CAS Birthday Card

Hey, everyone!

Today I will share you with the fourth and final card we made in our card class this month. I think it turned out so pretty and it's my favorite! I wasn't sure what design to go with for the last card but since the other cards were a little more detailed I decided to go with a CAS (clean and simple) card and I'm so glad I did! Take a look:

The base is Premium White Cardstock, layered with black cardstock, then another piece of the white. The sentiment is from Trendy Greetings and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The scalloped squares are Marvy Clever Lever punches and I added doodle dots with my Black Tombow marker and my white gel pen. The stamp is a purchase with purchase stamp which was embossed with black embossing powder after being stamped with Versamark. We used an embossing buddy to keep the stray powder away. We heat set it with the embossing heat tool and I absolutely love it! The final shimmer was added when we traced the sentiment with the Stardust Clear Gel Pen. That pen is fantastic... a definite must-have!

Thanks for hanging out with me today! I hope you were inspired to stamp today! Have a great one!

Sweet Birthday Wishes!

Hey, everyone!

This is another heavy birthday month for my family. My baby boy turns 3, my aunt and cousin have a birthday only three days before his and my oldest sister's birthday is in two more days. My nephew (her son) will have a birthday on the 22nd! School starts on Javan's birthday and I am starting a new job, working 40 hours a week, so this is a very full and busy month!

Do you keep a stash of cards? I always think I will but I give them away just as fast as I make them! I'm not sure how long I will hang on to this one but it was so fun to make. This is the third card we made in our card class. We created some dimension with the Scor-Bug by embossing some lines near the bottom. Not sure you can see it very well here but it was so fun! Hope you like it!

Thank you!

Hey, everyone!

Yesterday I showed you one of the four cards we made at my card class. I met Donna & Karen yesterday to make all four cards. Karen had requested some fun folds and I was happy to meet the challenge! I saw this Triangular Tri Fold Card and wanted to give it a try. It's the perfect size for a quick thank you note!
The cardstock is Birch (V-227) from The Angel Company. It is time to reorder; I am out and I absolutely love this cardstock! The sentiment is a Purchase With Purchase stamp called Thank You Oval (TW-3358). You can buy this stamp for only $2.95 with any $30 purchase! I used my Palette Hybrid ink in French Lilac (TT-202). The green designer paper and plaid designer paper is from the Toodle Loo Soar With It Collection (V-834). I outlined the oval and flourishes with my Stardust Clear Gelly Pen (F-464). Come back tomorrow to see another card!

Meet Emma!

Hey, everyone!

I had offered a card class in July, the last week, but things were crazy busy and I had to reschedule. Today I am meeting with Donna to make 4 cards and tomorrow I am meeting with Karen. It will be so much fun! I hope they like the cards we're making. I am going to share one a day over the next 4 days! Take a look at the Tri Fold Shutter Card we are making.
And when you open it up:
I had a request for some fun folds and I think this definitely works for that! The cardstock and designer paper is all brand new from The Angel Company. It is brand new and double-sided! I love it! Want some? It's called Emma (V-856) and it is 12x12. The coordinating cardstock for Emma is (B-326). The designer paper comes with double sided tags, as well and they are so pretty! The sentiment on the front is from the stamp set called Be Still (T-2890). The sentiment is on Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 1 dies (K-300) using the Wizard (K-308). Love it! You know you can get the Wizard for your half-price item with any order of $100 before tax and shipping! Love that!! Plus you would get a Level A Hostess stamp set of your choice! I added some sparkle and shine to the word "Beauty" with my Stardust Clear Gelly Pen (F-464). Such a wonderful way to add some shimmer without the mess of glitter and glue!

Thanks for checking out card #1 from this month's card club! If you want a kit but was unable to come to the class, let me know! Don't forget to get your copy of our brand new Inspiration Book and Catalogue 2010-2011 and $5 coupon! Ask me how you can get yours!

Quick and Easy Easel Card

Hey, everyone!

Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting two sisters, Betty and Kathleen, for a little stamping fun! What wonderful women they are! Their mother is so precious, too!! Betty had asked me about showing her The Angel Company catalog and magalogues. She had also wanted to see and try out the Scor-Pal. You all know how much I love my Scor-Pal!! This card is a very quick and easy card to create with the Scor-Pal and so much fun to give, too!
The paper is from TAC and is called Amberley Grace. Isn't it beautiful? I love the soft colors and thought it was too pretty to cover up with an image!
We stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Trendy Greetings in Noir Palette Hybrid Ink. The white circle measures 1¼" and is stamped with a sentiment from Tag Tidbits. The blue circle is 1½" and is popped up. The "Celebrate" sentiment is from Little Cupcake in our new Serendipity Street!
I really enjoy using that stamp set a lot! The center "celebrate" and the "it's your day" sentiment along with the "Happy Birthday" phrase all were traced with the Clear Stardust Glitter Gel Pen to add plenty of sparkle! The cardstock base measures 4" x 8" and is scored at 2" and 4" with the Scor-Pal.
Have a great day!

Family Traditions

Hey, everyone!

For those of you who know me well, you know that for me St. Patrick's Day is one of two of my favorite holidays of the year. I look forward to St. Patrick's Day for months! I can't wait for it to come. I love it! My kids laugh at me as I talk "Irish" and joke about them being leprochauns. They are mischievious! LOL When Kadesia was a baby we started a tradition for her to help me bake cookies. We'd make cookies with green frosting, or green sprinkles! This year she wanted to make a cake! A green FunFetti Cake! So at 9 p.m. that was what we did!! LOL
They are saying SHAMROCKS! instead of cheese! LOL
Here are some family shots WEARING OF THE GREEN!
Of course, Miss Thang has to cheese it up! LOL
Here I am with my little leprochaun Javan! He insisted we call him Coach today! He's got basketball on the brain since he's been watching his sister play Upward Basketball. It's over now but he will continue to think about it and talk about it for a while!
Here's my two favorite guys! Aren't they cute in their St. Patrick's Day shirts? Javan let me know, "You t'ant pinch me tuz I am wearing gween!" That happens to be his favorite color, too!
This little pouch is one I shared before. I just love that cute Tilda sitting on the cloud! I stuffed it full of Jumbo Paper Clip Bookmarks for Kadesia to pass out to her classmates and teachers. I love using The Angel Company's Willoughby designer paper for St. Patrick's Day. It is perfect!
These bookmarks are quick and easy to make. I really love giving them away. Everyone loves them! I encourage my children to read and we enjoy lots of summertime visits to the local library. I think we may make some bookmarks for our summer reading soon!
This is the hostess thank you card and gift set I made for June Lamb. She had her FunShop today and it was wonderful! She made a delicious Irish lunch, including dessert! Everything was wonderful!!
Here's a close-up of the binder notepad holder I made her. The chipboard measures 4" x 4" and is covered on both sides with Willoughby paper. The binder clip and ink pen also have the same paper to match. The sheets are loose so she can refill it with scrap papers, a sticky note pad or whatever she'd like!
This card was made using the Trendy Greetings stamp set from The Angel Company. This is a MUST HAVE stamp set for all - occasion cards and projects. There's a stamp for various holidays and themes in this set! The clover is from the Purchase With Purchase stamp set called Fancy Suits and it's only $2.95 with any $30 purchase! I used Jardin Moss to ink it up. The edges were sponged with Cognac and Burnt Umber. We are making a Suspension Card similar to this in our card class on Monday!
June wanted everyone to make a scrapbook page at her FunShop so that is what we did. She chose a birthday theme and it was a lot of fun to create this for them! I used a sketch I found in one of my scrapbooking magazines. It is a very simple design but I like to keep the focus on the photos and journaling. The balloons were punched out of the designer paper with my Super Jumbo Scalloped Punch and popped up with dimensionals. The strings were created with Scrapper's Floss. There's enough room for a 4"x6" photo and a 3¾" x 5¾" photo.
Here's a close-up of the journaling box. We used Tag Tidbits and Squiggle Ladybugs for the journal box "border" using "giggle," "joy," "laugh," and "happy birthday." All the inks are Palette Hybrid: French Lilac, Bordeaux, Starr Night, and Jardin Moss.
Hope you had a wonderful day! Thanks for hanging out with me tomorrow! I have more projects to share with you soon!!

FunShop Fun!

Hey, everyone!!

I wanted to share with you the hostess thank you card and gift I created for my friend, Donna. She had a FunShop at her home with some of her friends. You can go HERE to see Donna's creations.
This is the inside view of the nugget box I made her.
Here's a close-up of the card I made. I used the Scor-Bug for a fun decorative effect.
The designer paper is from The Angel Company. The tag is from the same paper set called Penelope. The "thank you" sentiment is a PWP stamp set called Lotsa' Love and I used French Lilac Palette Hybrid Ink which matches the card so well.
I created a 12x12 Christmas page for them to make at their request. I had a lot of fun designing this page. The holly and ivy are from The Angel Company's Holly Jolly PWP stamp set. The sentiment on the top of the journaling box is from TAC's Inspirational Sayings stamp set.
The "MEMORIES" title was cut out using my Cricut. I absolutely love it for making titles and when preparing kits for FunShops and classes it definitely makes light of the work. I ran the letters through my Xyron Sticker Maker and attached them. So fun! All the ladies enjoyed the project and had fun learning something new. I enjoyed meeting everyone and the snacks Donna shared were scrumpdiddlyumptious! Thanks for hanging out with me today! If you want to get in on the drawing I am having read this post for more information!

January Scrapbook Class

Hey, everyone!

I am having a scrapbooking class tomorrow at my house at 1 p.m. The cost is $10 for the class and all materials are included in the kit. You will only need to bring your favorite adhesive. If you cannot come to the class but would like to purchase the kit, just send me an e-mail at hoosier_card_angel@yahoo.com and I will give you all the details. Here is the 2 page 12x12 layout that we are going to create:
It's a combination of Amberley Grace and Hemingway designer papers from The Angel Company. The other stamp sets that were used on this layout are You Are and Family Is Forever and Little Things. All of these items are from TAC.

The "love" sentiment on this title page is created with the Scriptybet set in Noir Palette Hybrid Ink. I used Burnt Umber Palette Hybrid Ink to sponge the edges on each photo box.
Here you can see the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen outlining the sentiment. I love the shimmery effect it has!

The second page of this two-page spread features a series of squares that showcases the beautiful designer paper in these two paper packs. The center was left open to add a photo or journaling.
I used Noir Palette Hybrid ink for three of the squares and Burnt Umber on the others with the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen to highlight the words for a shimmery watermark effect. I love how it turned out! If you have any questions, please let me know! I am looking forward to Friday's class!

Angel Blog Hopping!!

Hey, everyone!!!

Wow! What a weekend! I had so much fun at the Crop A Little Love event on Saturday and so did my daughter! She and I made cards and I was able to organize all my TAC paper packs with the scraps from each pack! I got a lot done and it felt great! I was honored to be asked to come and be a vendor for Melissa Bierlein's crop! Here's a photo of the GWP stamps I donated for the goodie bags!
Kadesia really enjoyed herself:
She got to use up all the leftover make 'n take kits to create some Valentine's for her class. Her party is next month so she got a head start and I think she was able to make about half of the amount she needs! She's a little worker bee with the Scor-Pal and the kits!
She was a complete angel for me all day! Even though she had to get up early on a Saturday and be up really late. She was helpful and pleasant all day! I am so proud of her! She even demonstrated the make 'n take project for a couple of the ladies.
I would have been able to share these photos today but I had computer issues and finally got that all resolved this evening. That means I wasn't able to participate in the first Angel Blog Hop of this year!! I still want to show you what I made and share the links of the other Angels with you! Be sure you check out all their amazing Valentine's Day Treats creations. We were going to share Valentine's Day themed projects like treat holders, recipe cards, scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art and home decor items to inspire you all to make a sweet treat for someone you love! I made a 2, 4, 6, 8 box from a piece of Miss Moxie designer paper from The Angel Company. I used a tag from the Miss Moxie dp and stamped it with the "Forget Me Not" sentiment from the Squiggle Ladybugs stamp set. I used Noir Palette Hybrid ink. Hope you like it!
I used the tutorial from Jen Young. It would make an adorable party favor, don't you think? Here are the links to even more inspiring projects:
Have fun hopping!

First Card Class of 2010!

Hey, everyone!!

Yesterday was my card class. We made 4 cards that I will be sharing with you today! If you couldn't make it to the class but still want to come, the cost for the kit is $10 (plus s/h if I mail it) and includes images.

We created a masculine card because I think they are often more challenging to come up with ideas for! Here I used the Just Like Dad patterned paper, Decorative Corners stamp set, Tag Tidbits stamp set, Premium White Cardstock, Jardin Moss palette ink and Mega Scalloped Square Punch all from The Angel Company.

The second card I am showing you is great for baby showers and can be created in pink for girls or gender neutral colors. You can adapt the idea for birthdays, weddings, bridal showers, graduations, or whatever occasion you want! I am using Premium White Cardstock, Brighten My Day patterned paper, Hello Baby stamp set, Mega Scalloped Square Punch, Tombow Markers, Stardust Glitter Gel Pens, Noir Palette Hybrid Ink, Reflection Blue Palette Hybrid Ink, and Trendy Greetings stamp set all from The Angel Company. I also used a white gel pen from Signo Uni-ball that is the ultimate! LOVE IT!

I used an oval punch from TAC to punch the opening for the gift card.
The third card we created is an adorable treat holder that I saw on Angie Juda's blog. Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so what a great way to make a card and gift all in one for your family, friends, coworkers, school teachers, fellow church members, or your sweetheart! The cardstock is Birch and I have never ordered it before but I absolutely love it!!! It has a really nice weight to it and the specks in it make a very natural looking card. It's great! I heard a lot of great things about it in class and got an order for some going in soon!! The papers are from Miss Moxie and I used the Mega Scalloped Square Punch. I used my Tombow markers and Stardust Glitter Gel Pens to color the image in. Do you not love this bird? It's a Hostess Level A stamp set coming up in the brand new Serendipity magalogue that goes live February 1!!

I slipped a Ghiradelli chocolate and caramel square inside the card. The "friend" sentiment comes from the Beyond Measure Hostess Level B stamp set that you can earn with a qualifying party!! I used L'Amore Red Palette Hybrid ink and my Stardust Glitter Gel Pen to go over it for some added sparkle!
Our fourth and final card of the day was for another treat holder. This holds a Dove milk chocolate heart! I used red cardstock, black cardstock, Premium White Cardstock (TAC), the new Brighten Your Day stamp set available now for a limited time, stamped in Noir Palette Hybrid ink, colored with my Burnt Umber Copic Marker, Pink Souffle Gelly Pen, Stardust Glitter Gel Pens and Tombow Markers all from TAC. I accented the cat's eyes with my white gel pen.

The ribbon is from Walmart. It's tied in a knot on the side to secure the card together. Here's a look at the inside:
The sentiment is from Trendy Greetings and stamped in Palette Hybrid Ink. We also stamped hearts from the Build-A-Background Hostess Level A stamp set down the sides for a fun little border inside the card. The idea for this project came from Dawn Griffith. I apologize for the blurry photo. I don't know about my camera sometimes! LOL
I hope you have enjoyed checking out all the fun cards we made! Check back tomorrow for my Scripture Challenge where I will have another scrapbook page to share with you!

Hugs,
