No Stamp Crafting

Hey, everyone!

I have challenged myself to share 4 projects this month, once a week, each Tuesday that has NO stamping on it! That's right! No stamping!! Gasp! I know!!

Sometimes it's good to have a new challenge, something different from the normal way we create, to broaden our horizons. Creating projects with no stamping on them is definitely getting me to think outside the box! It was a lot of fun, too!

The first thing I thought of was to stamp on candles! Oops! No stamping...okay what about a coaster notebook? I do a lot of those so that wouldn't really be stretching it! Hmmm, okay let's see what I have on my "Items To Alter" shelf....well plenty! I looked down and saw some round coasters and thought...oh wouldn't they make cute door hangers? Not sure that is the proper name for these, but you'll see what I mean:
I just grabbed some paper using the favorite colors of each of my children. The ribbon is their most favorite colors. To personalize these I wasn't sure what I was going to do then I thought about my Cricut, of course!

I used my Mega Scalloped Circle Clever Lever Marvy Punch from TAC. I used the Crop-A-Dile from The Angel Company, as well to punch the holes for the ribbon and for the holes in the scallops. I also sanded the edges of the coasters with our great little sanding blocks! Super fun! Super easy! Wouldn't these make fun party favors? I think it would be really cute to make these for gifts, too. Something personalized with the recipient's favorite colors, their initial...and whatever else you'd like to add. I think it would be sweet to have a photo on the front, or the back!

I hope I have inspired you to take a break from stamping and see what you can create without the inky fingers! It might be interesting! I'd love to see what you make today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHEYLAYNA!

Hey, everyone!

Today is my sweet baby niece's SECOND birthday! I can hardly believe it! She is so precious! Her mommy, my big sister, gave me some letters that have adhesive on the back so they could be stuck to the wall but they were plain white. She didn't know how to "fancy them up" so I offered to do it and put them in a frame! Here is what I came up with:

This is her birthday card! It's all popped up on top! I punched one inch squares using the same designer paper as I used for her name frame. I think it turned out super cute!

Just Wing It!

Hey, everyone!

My future s-i-l, Hannah, has a little brother, Seth, who had a birthday recently. I wasn't sure the exact date of his birthday but knew it was coming up and then ON HIS BIRTHDAY my brother tells me what day it is. I was so upset that I wasn't able to give him a gift, so I decided to try to make it up to him. He likes things like hunting and camo and well you know...boy stuff! LOL So, I thought it would be great to use the Just Like Dad Wing It Collection (V-925) from The Angel Company. Here is what I came up with:
Each piece measures 4x4 and the layers are a scalloped square using the Super Jumbo Scalloped Square Punch (D-704) and a green square using a punch I have. The letters were cut out using my Sizzix machine and Lollipop alphabet dies. The square layers are mounted with pop dots (D-89) and I used some green ribbon from my stash to tie the large squares together. If you don't have a lot of chipboard on hand to make your own squares you could use the 4" Square Coasters in the catalog (H-102) to make this. You get 6 coasters in a package.

I really hope he likes this!! I enjoyed making it and it didn't take long at all. I'd love to hear what you think about this project. Just leave me a comment and if you make one, or have made one, let me know. I'd love to see it!

A little preview!

Hey, everyone!

I just wanted to post a little preview of a few projects I have worked on the past couple of days. I made my niece and nephew, my son and my daughter a name frame for each of their rooms. The girls' name frames have sparkles in the letters, but it doesn't show up too well in the photographs. I customized each name frame based on things in their rooms and/or things they like. I didn't stamp any of these but used my TAC Stardust Glitter Gel Pens to color in the names for each girl. The frames were from the Dollar Tree. I chose the Farmall tractor for my son's room because his great-grandpa recently passed away and he had several Farmall tractors. This will be a great way to honor his memory and personalize my son's room!

For my other project, I used a combination of stamping and my computer to print out these images. I punched them all by hand and there were a BUNCH! I think they are really cute and hope they will be a fun treat for the kids to win at the Kid's Bingo games we'll be playing on Saturday at the Lawrence County Relay For Life! This is just one of the MANY prizes to be had!
