Frugal Friday

Hey, everyone!!

I have something really fun to share with you all! I have been doing this for a while now but I thought I would let you all know about it, too! Many of you know how frugal I am when it comes to all things paper crafting and this little tip is no exception!
Check out all these leaves! It is a clamshell case crammed full of them! They will be fun to add to my scrapbook pages and cards. Instead of paying a small fortune for pretty little flowers in fancy jars, I spent $3 and some change to get all of these:
Aren't they pretty? My local Dollar Tree carries all these beautiful faux flowers for $1 per bundle. When I get them home I take them off their stems and pull them apart. Look at how many you can get. This is from three bundles!!
With so many colors to choose from, you can mix and match, add smaller flowers in the center, brads, buttons, a photo, ... whatever you can imagine! Be sure if you are in my area and you go stock up on these pretty flowers, you save some for me!!! :0)
Where there are flowers, you know there might be a few bees...
Isn't this the cutest little blog award?! I love it! My sweet friend Christina gave it to me.
This happiness award will be given to five bloggers, every Sunday! Those five bloggers will then pass it on to five bloggers. This special award will be given to bloggers who truly have happiness in their hearts and pass that on to everyone they meet, and everywhere they go. They know that happiness is a choice, and always choose wisely. Always looking on the sunny-side of life, and keeping their sense of humor, these bloggers are a joy to read!!! So the Queen Bee says to BEE HAPPY!!!
So my five bloggers are:
Have an awesome day!!!

Gorgeous Blog Award

Hey, everyone!!

I just wanted to say Happy March!!! It's here! March is here and with it come three things that I am definitely looking forward to: St. Patrick's Day, Spring, and Spring Break! What an exciting month. The final weeks of winter weather will be a distant memory as the sun shines a little brighter, the days become a little longer, the earth wakes up and becomes new and alive again!! What a wonderful season to begin!

I have been really busy lately. It seems like that is pretty much a constant in my life. I stay busy, no matter how hard I try to push the brakes. You ever get like that, too? Wow! Since I don't have anything "crafty" to show you today. I thought I would share a really special award that I got. Take a look:

Who else would give me such a wonderful award than my very sweet and favorite friend, Christina! You have to go see her! Tell her how much you love all the fun things she is sharing!!! She definitely loves when you leave her some love! THANK YOU, CHRISTINA!!!! YOU ROCK!

Honest Scrap

Hey, everyone!

I just want to share a special award my dear friend Teresa gave me. Go check out her blog: it's awesome! She gave me this award:Here is what she said about why she chose me:

Bridgett: my wonderful The Angel Company "angel" and friend; she has an inspiring blog that really reflects her generous soul.

There are a few requirements to accepting the Honest Scrap Award and they are as follows:
1) I must thank the person who gave me the award and list their blog and link.

So, thank you very much Teresa!

2) I must list 10 honest things about myself.

#1 I am very glad I decided to start taking better care of myself now but it is a hard choice to make sometimes because it feels selfish.

#2 I recognize that I make excuses for not trying difficult tasks at times but I am making a point to face these challenges head on and do my best regardless of the outcome.

#3 It still hurts a lot to think about my Uncle John. I miss him so much and it's very hard to visit my aunt and cousins without him there.

#4 I fell in love with my husband all over again! I don't know when the changes in both of us started taking place but I am thankful!

#5 I am directionally challenged. My husband has to navigate wherever we go...even though I do try!

#6 I have some projects in the works and I am going to be thrilled to get the recordings over with and have the finished product in my hands!

#7 I am eager to go on vacation for our anniversary in September but a little nervous about meeting my goal of losing 40 pounds by then. I hope I can do it!

#8 I am thinking of taking some college courses in the fall.

#9 My dream is to go to Ireland and someday I hope it happens!

#10 I will be so glad when I am finished cleaning each room, closet, cupboard, shelf, drawer, nook and cranny in my house and hopefully we'll have a LOT less in each space!

3) Now I am supposed to pass this blog award to 5 other people, so here they are:

1. CHRISTINA because not only is she an amazing friend, she is also a rockin' paper crafter! She has awesome projects on her blog. Go check it out and leave her some love!

2. BARB because she is an awesome Angel. She is helpful and caring and wonderful. She is uber talented and once you read her blog, you'll want to follow her!

3. STACY because I love all of her work! She inspires me so much and after seeing her scrapbook pages, cards and other paper crafts I am eager to get my supplies out, too!

4. MELISA because she has never ceased to surprise me with her amazing paper crafting. She creates exquisite art and I love to see her enthusiasm for The Angel Company!

5. VICKI because she has the best tutorials, is an amazing Angel and has a terrific blog!

I am getting more batteries for my camera tonight so hopefully I can share some projects with you! My printer is down so I can't use it with my memory card! Thanks for hanging out with me today!

The last day to order your favorite stamps on the retired stamp list, or in our current catalog, is June 26. The sets in Serendipity are available for a full year! The new catalogs are coming soon! If you want one, make sure you tell me if you haven't already! I appreciate all the orders I have received already! The Valued Customer Reward Cards are filling up. Do you have yours? Giving!

Hey, everyone!

I just wanted to share a couple awards that I received recently. I really appreciate being chosen for these blog awards and it means so much to me when I get an award along with a nice compliment. It really makes me feel good!

This first award was given to me by Christina a dear friend of mine.
Thank you, Christina! I appreciate the award so much. I do try to comment on everyone's blog that I visit and even though I don't get to always leave a little love, it is something I try to do! I know that comments are sometimes seen as too much trouble when you're blog hopping but it feels so great to hear someone say that they like something I made or shared, and as a new stamper, it really encourages me to keep stamping, keep improving, keep learning and keep sharing! So to all of you awesome friends of mine who leave me comments, please consider yourself chosen for this award! THANK YOU!!! I appreciate it so much! I also wanted to remind you that to show my appreciation to all of you who leave me a little love when you can and in honor of my one year blogaversary, I am going to give a blog candy prize to the person who leaves me the most comments this month!

Here is my second award to share and it really does touch me to be nominated and especially after Barb, who is one of the most awesome Angels I have ever had the privilege to get to know, shared why she nominated me...that I always have something sweet to say and I'm genuine! What an awesome compliment...THANKS, BARB!!!
I give this award to Christina, Hannah, and all my Angelhood Sisters (check out the link list to the right and visit them) who keep me encouraged by the wonderful things they say and do!
Now for another gift....a birthday gift for my father-in-law. He is a professional carpenter and when I saw this project on Mel's blog I knew I had to make this for his birthday! He likes PayDay candy bars so there's six standing inside the box.

I used silver brads and a black marker for faux stitching. I found some carpenter tool clip art so I printed them off and my husband used my markers to color them in realistically.

I know the photos are a little dark. I apologize for that. It was late when I snapped the photos but I am glad I did because my husband gave the box to his dad the next day! LOL I hope you like this nifty tool belt birthday box! I think it turned out pretty cute! If you make one, I'd love to know about it! Please leave me a comment and let me know where I can find yours!

What an honor to be picked!

Hey, everyone!

I can't believe this month is just about over! Wow!! What a month it has been...so many things have happened and it's just been wonderful! Today I am going to share a few things with you all....some awards, some tags, and then a link to some blog candy!!! Woohoo!

Christina gave me this award:

Here is what she said about me:
Bridgett- This has got to be one of the most gentle people I know. She never has a mean thing to say about anyone . She goes out of her way to help you in anyway she can, she can always find the inspriation I need for my crafting and is definatly one of the most spiritual people I know. I have never met her in real life either , but she comes from the same area as one of my best friends so I hope one day when we all go see them we can meet up with her.
Thank you, Christina! You are so sweet and I would be so jazzed to meet up with you anytime!!! Since I need to send this award to someone, I am going to pick Hannah. She knows me so well and is such a great friend. I am blessed to know her! We are definitely kindred spirits. We share so many common values and interests. My children adore her and I am honored to be her friend...and future sister-in-law.

Susie gave me this wonderful award! Thank you, Susie!
This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. I choose to share it with all of you! This will be my way of saying thank you for reading my blog and being so supportive of my work. Grab the award and pass it on to 8 people you admire!

Vicki my awesome and super talented Angel friend, tagged me! It sounds fun so here are the details:
1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
2. Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
3. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
4. Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
Well the sixth folder and the sixth photo is a blog award so I decided to go to my sixth folder from the last and then select the sixth photo in that folder and this is what I found!
I know that I shared this before so I will be really brief. This is my son, Javan, after he ate his first spaghetti dinner. It wasn't really his first, but it was the first time I stripped him down to the diaper and let him try to eat like a big boy. Just look at those chubby little hands and that sweet little mouth! Oh, friends, the time passes too quickly!!! I'd love to see what you have in your photo folders, too, so why not play along? If you have a blog, feel free to participate and then TAG 6 of your friends!

Rachel is giving away some blog candy! Check out her awesome cards and projects with a love-theme. You will love her cards and the sweet treats! Check it out!!!

Wow! This was a big share but I wanted to post it all at once and this was the soonest I could do it! Check back tomorrow when I share some projects!

It's Friday!!!

Hey, everyone!

Notice anything different on my blog? I just put up a new link list for this month's StampTACular Tuesday Challenge. I will update the link list each week and will keep it up until February 7 so you will be able to click on any of those links to see various cards and projects using An 'Udder Birthday stamp set (T-2642). Remember this stamp set is 50% off right now until Jan. 26!

My dear Angel friend, Susie, gave me a beautiful blog award! I am so excited to receive it! THANK YOU, SUSIE! I am now supposed to pass it on to seven bloggers but that is so hard when there really are so many! I will try to pick seven blogs that I haven't picked before....

Here are the ones I have selected. Click on their name to visit them.
1. Heather Scott
Heather has a lot of awesome things on her blog, but one of my favorite things she features is a sketch with actual measurements on it for each piece. I love that! It totally takes the guesswork out for me and I can focus on creating something instead of trying to guess what size something should be!
2. Jennifer Carter
Jennifer always has cute projects featured. It's refreshing to see what she posts next because it isn't just cards or the same thing everyone else is doing! I love seeing her scrapbook pages, too! Her little girl is just so darn cute!
3. Tracy Turner
Tracy inspires me because of her card ministry. Her blog is filled with awesome things to check out but the way she sets up her card ministry, the organization she has...wow! It is impressive and encourages me that I can do something similar, too. You have to check out her method!
4. Julie Griffith
Julie has an awesome tutorial on her blog for a CD Photo Cube. It is a really neat project and I can think of several different people who would love to receive one of these...you really should check it out!
5. Tara a.k.a. Stampalicious
Tara's blog is one I found while going from one blog to the next and so on...LOL She has a project on her blog of some wedding favors in the shape of a cake that is so beautiful! Stampalicious is so very talented that I absolutely love to check out what she is doing! I think you will see why she gets this award from me after you visit her!
6. Nichole Headdy
Nichole's projects are always inspiring to me. I love the way she thinks! She will take an ordinary item that any number of people use every single day, like a coffee filter for example, and she will make it into the cutest thing you ever saw! I only wish I was on Nichole's gift list! LOL She is amazing!
7. Teresa Hooten
Teresa is a lady that once I spoke to her for the first time, I instantly thought of her as a friend. She is such a wonderful person and her blog is full of amazing and interesting things. I am not sure if I am more excited about what she posts or just seeing things through her eyes, but I do love it! You will, too, so go check it out!

My daughter has been wanting to make a craft with me since the beginning of this week. I told her we would but she is such a social butterfly that I almost need to make an appointment to hang out with my 7 year old! LOL So, finally this evening we scoured through the various video tutorials I have saved in my favorites and she finally chose a project! She wanted to make a bookmark for Miss Rosie whose birthday was yesterday! She did the assembling of this but I did help her with adhesive and knotting the ribbon. I think she did a great job! I used the Belle Rose palette ink spot (TT-193) to cover the chipboard that I punched out using my scalloped square punch (D-705). The papers are scraps I had in my drawer and the flower is one I had purchased at my LSS. The jeweled center is a stick-on jewel from a pack I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The ribbon and clear square hardware is from my stash, also. You can watch the tutorial by Dawn Griffith that inspired us to make a bookmark HERE.
What kind of birthday card could I make for my sweet Rosie than a trio of roses? This is a stamp that came from the Dollar Tree here where I live. I got it for $1 and if I count cost per use as a $1 each time, then trust me this stamp is MORE THAN paid for! I really like this stamp a lot. I have used it often and colored it in with my Stardust Glitter Gel Pens (F-462) or Tombow Markers Bright set (F-01), but for Christmas my sweet husband bought me some new Bic Mark It Permanent Markers and so I colored these flowers and leaves in with those. I shaded some and I think for my first attempt, it isn't too bad. LOL I then added a few dots of our Prisma Glitter (A-287) because I absolutely love to add shimmer on my cards! You cannot tell it from the photo but the roses are up on pop dots (D-89) and the pink square measures 2¾"x2¾" and the card base is 3"x6" and scored on the 3" line using my Scor-Pal (F-358)!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing what we've been up to! I have more to share with you so be sure you check back often! I will be sharing another altered notepad with you on Tuesday for the StampTACular Tuesday challenge. Don't miss it and if you have this set, I'd love for you to play along. Send me a link to your project. If you don't have it, now is a great time to get it....HALF PRICE! You just can't beat that!

More Awards!

Whoosh!

Do you hear that? That is the sound of this year just zooming right on by! I am just hanging on for dear life, swinging in the breeze, you know? I feel like I am so behind on everything this month! I know, I know! It's only three days into it but we haven't taken our Christmas photos yet for our cards, and the handmade ones aren't all done yet. I have very little shopping done so far and my husband's birthday is on the 9th! No decorating done yet and still lots more things on my ever-growing To Do list, so I thought I would just take the time to post a couple BLOG AWARDS I received from some sweet bloggers and give out these same awards to other deserving bloggers! It's always good to receive an award for something you put a lot of time and effort into. It's great to have someone say, "I like your work!" You know?

Before I post these awards, I just want to let you all know that I have some fun "creations" in the works and will be eager to start posting them all soon. I have a few things that I have to finish up before I can play some more but they are coming, so please be sure to check back and see what all I have been up to!

My first award is from Christina:

This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.I hereby send these off to:
1. Donna
2. Heather
3. Nicole
4. Deena
5. Melisa
6. Maria
7. Anne Marie
8. Dawn

My other blog award is from Susie LittleI just love butterflies so this is an awesome award to get! I would like to give it to:
1. Christina
2. Amber
3. Becca
4. Mary

And in closing, I would like to just say that I have never won blog candy before! I tried and tried to win it and just never did, but then I get an e-mail from Christina S. and she tells me that I won her blog candy! Check out what I won!

I am so excited!!! Well I hope you will all enjoy the blog awards and be sure to check out these awesome blogs. It's so hard to just pick a few!

It isn't nice to not share, right? So, I will share a link with you all so you can try to win some blog candy, too. Susie (the very same one who gave me that awesome blog award) is offering up some blog candy so go get it HERE.

Have a great day!

SUPER SUNDAY SHARE!

Hey, everyone!

Today is when I make my fun announcement! I have so much to share with you, though, so hope you have a little bit of time to read through this. It's really great stuff and I am super excited!

First of all, who doesn't love to get an award right? I try really hard to update my blog as often as I can with fun information, new projects, monthly specials with The Angel Company for all my awesome customers who read here, and news about my family for those who don't live close enough to see my kids growing and changing...so to get two blogger awards is really kewl to me.

Amber has so graciously given me the ENCOURAGED award and I am very honored. She has helped me and encouraged me a lot since I have known her, so for her to choose me for this award means a LOT! So, thanks, Amber!
The rules for the Encouraged Blogger Award are:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog. (I will.)
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award. (I did.)
3. Nominate 5 blogs. (See below.)
4. Put links to their blogs. (Just click on their name.)
5. Leave a message for your nominees. (I will.)

I chose the following people for the Encouraged Blogger Award...
1. CHRISTINA This is someone who will stop what she is doing to help me, chat with me, listen to me vent, understands my frustrations, and is a great example of a true Christian...never judging, living a silent witness of her faith!

2. HANNAH This is a great friend of mine...and will one day soon be my sister-in-law! She is a faithful friend, always encouraging, uplifting, kind and sweet. She prays and does her best to let the light of God's love shine through everything she does!

3. ANGIE This is a lady who enjoys stamping and sharing all kinds of awesome video tutorials on her blog. She is funny and kind and just really is so much fun to "visit" with when I go to her blog. She posted a message recently and it helped me so much and even though she has so much going on in her life, she e-mailed me personally and gave me a few more tips that just really helped me out. She is a blessing and I thank God for people like her!!

4. MELISSA This is a fellow-Angel who has been so inspirational to me. She has helped me out when I have questions, and being new to TAC and relatively new to stamping I have lots! She is also a PHENOMENAL mother and wife! I look up to her and enjoy reading her blog posts!

5. RITA This is another Angel...and I mean that in more than one way! She is such a joy to know. I am so honored to be in the Angelhood with her and have been so blessed to get to know her through Angel groups and reading her blog. She was going through Chemotherapy and still sent me a New Angel package filled with cards and samples from different Angels. It was so wonderful of her to continue to think of others instead of focusing only on herself. That is Rita...that is just who she is!

There are many more who have been encouraging and helpful to me...so I thank you all!

Christina gave me a Kreativ Blogger Award! I am so touched! Especially since she has oodles more talent and creativity than I do! Thanks for picking me!!!!

Here are the rules for this blog award: list 6 things you value, 6 things you don't, and 6 receivers. Well, I don't like those three numbers together (LOL) but I will do this!

SIX THINGS I VALUE
1. Freedom...and those who are responsible for ensuring I get to keep mine.
2. My needs are all met.
3. I have a great husband and two beautiful and healthy children God blessed me with.
4. My faith and relationship with God. I can't make it without Him.
5. My heritage...the way I was raised and always being in church.
6. Learning...always learning new things is such a wonderful thing!

SIX THINGS I DO NOT VALUE
1. Abuse in any form is always wrong!
2. Lying...I can't stand to be lied to.
3. Gossip...it's hurtful, most often untrue, and I have never not known it to not get out of hand.
4. Bad drivers...no turn signal and nearly run over you, right on my tail (I have children, precious cargo...back up!), speeding up and slowing down, those stupid bright blue lights....
5. Snow and ice....snow is pretty to look at but not to walk in...I am 30 years old and still can't walk in that mess and yes I am a Hoosier! Go figure... Ice, in my opinion, only belongs in my cup not under my feet or tires.
6. Seeing something posted on a blog that looks so fabulous I just HAVE to try it, and I click on the link that says FIND OUT HOW TO MAKE IT HERE only to see that I have to PAY for someone to give me the pattern or instructions!
(Quick note: selling your copyright stuff is great...just don't make it sound like it's free...LOL)

SIX RECEIVERS:
1. CHRISTINA I know she nominated me, but she deserves this award!!

2. JANY Just check her blog and you will see why she is getting this award from me! So talented!

3. VICKI I check her blog as often as I can! Great tutorials!

4. SARAH She has the best projects and I find myself wanting to try them all!

5. BARB I love Barb! She is so awesome! I love it that I can ask her anything and she is so quick to answer!! Her blog is so fun to visit!!

6. ANGELA Is there anything she makes that I don't love? I am thinking NO! I love it all!

Jany threw down a challenge to all that are in her Angelhood (which includes me) and since I am not one to walk away from a challenge, I will play along! Jany wants us to tell 7 truths about ourselves so you can get to know us all more. So here are my 7 things and I, too, would like to encourage the other Angels in our Angelhood to play along!

1. I love rainy days as long as I am not out in it, or driving in it. The rain makes me sleepy.

2. I want to write stories for children.

3. I am the happiest when I am surrounded by my family and close friends.

4. I enjoy singing so much!

5. I love to wear aprons in the kitchen just like my grandmother!

6. I believe in God but more than that I have a relationship with Jesus Christ!

7. I put peanut butter in my chili...mmm!

I was hoping to get some links to other Christmas card projects and you know what they say? Ask and ye shall receive! Laurie has some great Christmas cards featured on her blog! She also has a really pretty gift card holder up! I love making those. And for a new twist on gift card holders, check out Vicki's awesome project! I love it! And speaking of Christmas cards...Christina did a fabulous job on all of hers but I forgot one!!! So here it is and please be sure to let Christina know what a fabulous job she did!!!

The verse inside says: May Christmas bring carolers, holly, and snow, bright twinkling lights upon your tree...popcorn for stringing, and mistletoe, the warmth of friends and family.

Now I would like to make my announcement...I know how much you all love BLOG CANDY so I am posting some BLOG CANDY, too! This will be THANKSGIVING BLOG CANDY and all the details (and photos) will be posted later on this week, so be watching for it!

I would also like to let everyone know that I will have a booth at the Holiday Village on November 22 from 9 am - 4 pm and would love it if you would stop by and say hello if you are planning on attending! There will be so many fun things to see and do there, including meeting Santa Claus! I will have lots of fun stuff there...so bring your Christmas shopping lists and don't forget your own wish lists!! If you plan on attending this event, please let me know so I can send you a post card or e-mail to bring with you to my booth at the Holiday Village and redeem your free gift! Let me know if you want to be added to my mailing list. Hope to see you there!

I'm Back and Have an Award To Share!

Wow!

I have been sick!!! I am not feeling 100% yet but I am much better than I was. I had a severe migraine for 4 days and then several days of chills, fever, vomiting, dizziness, nausea, and stomach pain. I couldn't eat and felt so weak. Thankfully I had family to lean on at different times to make my job as a mother of two small children a lot easier. I laid a lot, slept a lot, and was most miserable. I am still dizzy and sometimes nauseas but doing much better. So, not much fun to speak of, but at least now you know why I was missing!!!

I received an award from a friend of mine, Christina! She's the best!!! Thanks for checking on me so much! You are a great friend! Here is the award:

1. THE WINNER CAN PUT THE LOGO ON THEIR BLOG.

3. NOMINATE AT LEAST 5 OTHER BLOGS.

5. PUT THEIR LINK ON YOUR BLOGS
