Angel Blog Hop

Hey, everyone!

You all know how much I love, love, love my Scor-Pal, right? I use it for almost, if not every, single project that I make!! I bought the tool sight unseen and was just hoping it would deliver and it did not disappoint! This is one of the best tools a paper crafter can have. It does so much more than just create score lines for cards! Want to see some examples? Then this is your lucky day!!! I am going to share my project and the link of other Angels who have posted their Scor-Pal projects.

This Scor-Pal project is my Cookie Box! I am so excited to share it with you! The sentiment is from the Basic Birds stamp set. The paper and and scallop punch are also from The Angel Company.

If you want to make this project click HERE for the tutorial.

Would you like the Scor-Pal? If so, let me know and I would be happy to share with you how you can get it for 50% off!

Now it's time to HOP on over these awesome Angel blogs! Be sure to leave them a comment letting them know how they have inspired you!

Another Spin...

Hey, everyone!

Today's card share is not my own! I love it when my daughter wants to make crafts with me, but so often she will ask when we are not able to do it. After she saw the spinner card I made she was so excited and wanted to make one, too. She's so funny because she went to her room and got her notebook and ink pen, told me to put the video on of Angie teaching how to make this card and then she made me pause it every little bit so she could write down the measurements and supplies needed. We took her instructions downstairs to gather our supplies. She picked all the colors out and wanted to make a basketball rolling back and forth. She is so clever! She thought I was pretty smart to know how to make a basketball from orange paper, a punch and a black marker. Shhhh! Don't tell her otherwise! LOL

So here is her spinner card. Let me know what you think and I will share the comments with her. She will be so excited!

Spinner Card

Hello, everyone!
I made my first spinner card! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I do not have a word window punch so I used a small emery board and my Kai scissors (C-1220) to cut it out. It worked just fine! I hope you like it. You can watch the video on how to make this card here. I modified mine a little but it turned out well.Basic Birds Stamp Set (T-2636) ON SALE FOR $3.98 for 9 stamps! (until 1/26/09)

First Card This Year!

Hey, everyone!

Did you have fun ringing in the New Year? I'm a home body...I would rather be at home than anywhere else and when I am surrounded by family and friends...well what could be better? So, for New Year's Eve this year we decided to just play some board games at home and anyone that wanted to could come and hang out but we weren't really doing much. Paul ended up going to bed with a fever and not feeling well long before midnight. So here is a picture of us together. We don't have a lot of photos together because I do not like to get my picture taken at all.Arnold and Hannah came over for a while to play games. It was so much fun. We laughed so much! We were having such a great time that we didn't even realize it was the NEW YEAR until we heard the fireworks outside! LOL Before they left, I took a picture of them with my kids. Kadesia and Javan adore Hannah and Arnold so they were very excited about their visit!
I make a lot of cards and then give them to my brother who then gives them to Hannah. She loves my cards. THANK YOU, HANNAH!!! My brother told me he has run out of cards for Hannah, so we just can't have that. I have been wanting to make this card for a while now. I saw a dress in the kids section with a print on it that reminded me of a stamp set from The Angel Company called Fantasy Flourishes (T-2875) so I decided to try to create a card with that same design idea. I also used the Basic Birds (T-2636) stamp set. I added some of my bargain ribbon, a tag made with my Sizzix machine and some embellishments I had in my stash.

I hope you like this card! The good news is that if you want to make this card, too, but don't have those stamps, you can order them anytime from Jan. 6-26 for HALF PRICE because they are T-coded stamps! How cool is that?

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card. Be sure you check back again soon! Next Tuesday will be the first StampTACular Tuesday Challenge and you won't want to miss it!!

THIS JUST IN!!

Hey, everyone!!!

Welcome back! I am SO excited to show you what my friend Amber has donated to our prize table for the STAMP OUT CANCER and CROP FOR A CURE fundraiser!!!

Do you not LOVE these? You should see these in person! They are adorable and a really great size, too! Just add your photos, decorate the pages as you like, and you have an instant scrapbook! Each one is SO cute with coordinating papers inside, and all with a fun summer theme!! I asked her if she would like to make one accordion album but she made THREE!!! And they are all awesome! Thanks, Amber!! I am definitely looking forward to next Saturday!! It's going to be a really FUN day!

For all you mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! I have a really, really wonderful mother. We are really close...like best friends and always have been! I look up to my mother and wish I could be just like her!!!

Here's a Mother's Day Card I made for my husband's grandma! She is really great and always loves playing with her great-grands!! She likes birds and so I used the Basic Birds stamp set (T-2636), Swoops & Swirls Hostess A stamp set (TA-2857), and Trendy Greetings (T-2144) to stamp Happy Mother's Day on the inside. I stamped the bird in Noir Palette Hybrid Ink (TT-220) and the sentiment in Claret (TT-194). I stamped the bird image three times to piece it together. I stamped the tail feathers on a patterned pink paper, and the body of the bird was stamped on a sheet of cardstock that I used the shaving cream technique on. I made my own grass with a sheet of green cardstock and my Kai scissors (C-1220) and mounted it to a sheet of blue cardstock. I punched a circle out of some gold scrap paper and mounted it for a sun. I stamped the bird image onto the cardstock and then I mounted the bird body and tail feathers on top using foam tape. Thanks, Hannah, for the use of your stamps and Claret ink!! Thank you ALL for looking!! Have a great day!

Getting creative!

Hey, everyone!

I hope you all have had a chance to get creative today! My daughter and I have been hanging out today. She isn't feeling well, Javan's mamaw took him for a while and I've been cleaning!! (LOL)

I have had some time to work on a couple things here and there. I can't just sit and play like I'd like, but it's been fun to do a little at a time when I can. I thought I'd share some of our "creations" with you today.

This first photo is all the fun things Kadesia created at the book fair they had at school. I volunteered at the bookmark table and I am not even sure where that cute little gecko she decorated got off to! (LOL) She's quite the little artist!!
She drew two beautiful pictures while she was laying around. She still doesn't feel well. Poor baby! Don't you love my red hair? I do!!!
I cherish this cute little love note!
My baby girl said that since she made me something special, she wanted me to make her a special card. Who could resist a request like that? I know how much she loves butterflies, and since I was eager to play with my new Butterfly Swirls stamp set, I was happy to make this little card out of scrap cardstock, a ribbon I had in my box and these beautiful stamps! I used the Relax sentiment from the Basic Birds (T-2636) stamp set! The Get Well Soon stamp is just something I picked up at a store sometime ago.
She loved her card, especially with the butterflies on it! She could read the whole thing to me. I am so proud of her!!
This is the project I worked on a little at a time today. It was so fun and easy! I saw the video tutorial here and had to make one! I had some paper sacks leftover from when I sold Avon forever ago, and used that for the insert. How fun!! With this card, I used the Begin Blooming stamp from the My Journey (T-2617) stamp set, found in the spring/summer 2008 catalog. I colored it in with my Tombow markers. To add a little shimmer, I decorated it with Stickles. I think this will be a fun card for a birthday, or graduation, even bridal shower because of the sentiment, and it kind of is like a celebration type card. The fun part is slipping the gift card or money inside and it watching their surprise when they open the card!
Thanks for checking back today! I hope you were inspired to get creative!! If you want me to help you make this card or other projects you see here, give me a call!
Happy Paper Crafting,

RELAX!

Hey, everyone!
I love my new TAC stamps, if you didn't know! (LOL) They're a lot of fun to play with and create fun cards with! This is my first attempt at a Matchbox card without any directions/instructions/measurements to speak of. I saw a card I wanted to try, an invitation, to be exact. I never copy a card piece by piece, but rather I am inspired by several sources and then come up with my own design! This is not exactly ready for the magazines, but it really speaks to me. The birds seem so relaxed and as if they are just waiting for the next great thing to happen! I wanted to make a spring-ish card and loved using words like laugh, enjoy, relax, delight and live to remember. This card is a reminder to reflect on all that God has blessed us with and enjoy it. I think about my planner that is so beat up from rifling back and forth through the pages (though it is only March) and how we can be so busy with life, events, appointments, activities and our own agendas that we often miss out on the simple, good things we have in abundance in our lives. I feel like God is whispering to me, "Rest in Me. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and sit with Me for awhile." He is such an awesome God! I am so thankful that I know Him. Do you? I just love Him so much!
