Class Samples

Hey, everyone!

I am having a class on Saturday and I am so excited to share with you the projects we're making: a criss cross card, note card using the Reverse Masking technique and a cute little basket!


This is what our criss cross card looks like. We'll be making our own designer paper.

Here is the inside of our card. It's going to be so fun to see all the cards these ladies are going to make! We'll be using the same supplies but everyone creates differently!

I just love how this card turned out! This is the Reverse Masking technique. What a fun card!
Here's our cute little basket! This is one of my favorite baskets to make!
I'm so thrilled that my class is full! This is a fun little gift I am giving to all the ladies who attend Saturday. Each set has 4 note cards in it and tied with a ribbon. Put on your sunglasses!

Hey, everyone!


I have been doing a Scripture Challenge with my friend, Christina, for the past 12 weeks. Each Wednesday we share our scrapbook pages on our blogs. I have been trying to use different colors and I had noticed that none of my scrapbook pages were yellow. Some had yellow accents but none were yellow so I decided to grab some paper and WOW is it bright! LOL In real life it isn't so bright but the scanner picked it up like this and I did try to adjust it! LOL

As you can see by the layout, the word I studied on this week was PROTECTION. This is such a great word and even though I have lots of thoughts about many of the words in this challenge, I felt like this scripture said it all for me. It's like a prayer, a declaration, a promise and a testimony all in one! I hope it blesses you today! I used a sketch by Jack MTTSC19 that I saw over on The Lucky Clucker. Go check it out. Fun Challenge!

Hey, everyone!

It's March 1!!!! Is that not crazy??? Wow! Looking back over the past couple months, I have been really busy but it was doing fun things so I haven't felt stressed or frustrated like I did a lot last year. It is great to work on fun things again and only the challenges I want to do!!! Speaking of fun things and challenges...I have some fun things to share with you today and part of it is a new challenge I accepted!!! Here we go:

I apologize for the blurry photo! I don't know why my camera does that sometimes. I kept adjusting the settings and it still wouldn't work properly! This is the prize package I am splitting up for Christina and Brenda since they tied for leaving me the most comments on my blog this month...21 EACH! Thank you ladies! I hope you enjoy your gifts!!! I will e-mail you to let you know when I have mailed your packages to you!
Have you seen this book before? I got it for only ONE DOLLAR at the Dollar Tree! I was so excited. I have seen some episodes of Knitty Gritty on television before and LOVED it so I looked through the book quickly and there's so many fun patterns in this book! I had to snatch it up!!! Yay! It's a great book with a really kewl system to rate each project. Most will say beginner, intermediate, advanced but she rates her projects in terms of how long it takes each project like: PLAYDATE, WEEKEND AT NANA'S, SUMMER CAMP so I thought that was kewl! Speaking of knitting, I have managed to knit a few more rows while Kadesia was at gymnastics and then a little today while I was waiting on something else. I will share a photo soon, I promise!
Yes, I know it's only March 1 and NO I am really NOT rushing Christmas along, but here's the challenge part... Last year I signed up for a Christmas card challenge but then I didn't do so well! Ugh! I just had too many other things going. This year I decided to try the challenge again. I set a goal of how many cards I want to make each month. For February, I wanted to make 3 and I did it just in the knick of time! I will sign these and address them tonight or tomorrow sometime and put them in my little holder. I am so glad I got these done!! Yay!
I designed this card so that it looks like wall paper and a window with some wall art! I hope you can "get" that from seeing it. I had a lot of fun doing this one! The stars were stamped with the star from the Wild West stamp set from The Angel Company. The snow and snowman are all sparkly with Prisma Glitter. The sky is sponged in Reflection Blue ink. The "JOY" sentiment is stamped with Iris Palette ink and the stars have my Purple Tombow marker outlined.
This is a stamp set that was offered in December. I just love this Whimsy Santa. He's so cute! I used Prisma Glitter for the snow and to outline his hat and coat. The sky is sponged with Starry Night Palette ink. The image was stamped with Noir Palette ink. The basket and wooden handles are colored in the Chestnut Memory Marker.
This card uses Burnt Umber sponged on the base card and around the script designer paper. The brown cardstock and sentiment edges also have Burnt Umber on them. I used Red and Green Tombow markers to color in the image and then L'Amour Red and Viridian Leaf for the sentiment. The sentiment is a FREE Gift With Purchase stamp that you can get with any $30 purchase!

It's A Tie!!!

Hey, everyone!

WOW!!! You all know how to show the love!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! What a fun year it has been! Yesterday was my one year blogaversary and I had decided earlier this month that I wanted to do something special for this occasion! You all know what blog candy is, right? (If not, it's a fun prize given to someone who is usually randomly chosen.) This time, however, I decided to give a prize to the person who left me the most love on my blog all month. I wasn't expecting a tie but no worries because I have enough for both of you ladies! The winners (PLURAL) are:

Since I have been working on getting my new craft space organized, I will show you some photos. Let me know what you think!

This is a rolling cart I got back when our Walmart store wasn't a SUPER Walmart. I liked the old store much better! This only cost me $5 and it stores all my files. I love it!

This is another part of the basement I claimed. It was full of paint cans and supplies and everything you could imagine! I moved it all to another part of the basement and dusted the shelves off with some furniture polish. I then took my sand paper and sanded all the shelves down and then started filling it up with some baskets and things I have bought over the years. Can you tell what my favorite colors are? LOL The hanging white storage unit now has all my envelopes in it. My index cards are in the gray basket and then my already cut and scored cards are in the blue basket below the envelopes. I love my iPod that my brother gave me! It keeps me company with all my favorite songs...well a LOT of my favorite songs! LOL The other two containers on that shelf are empty...for now! The two small black and white checkered baskets are handy. One has some cleaning cloths in it for rubbing fingerprints off photos when scrapbooking and the other has several sticky note pads. The white container has my Creative Memories punches that I have had for several years now back when I started to scrapbook! The blue canvas container has my TAC punches in it. The small baskets are now on the next shelf down, actually and the clear tote in the next photo swapped places with it. That tote has my miscellaneous punches, label maker, Crop-A-Dile in it. The sunflower basket has some RAK's I have received and am eager to play with soon!

The small basket has my business cards in it. The blue pail behind it has unfinished projects in it. My Xyron 150 is now in front of my large Xyron and the baskets to the right of it have glue dots, pop dots, glue sticks, wonder tape, foam tape, Duck tape runners, glitter glue sticks, Stickles and paint.

The yellow basket on the left has some baggies in it. The baggies contain punched out shapes, each baggie separated by a particular paper. The basket below it has images I have received as RAKs and some that I have made and didn't use. The next basket has tags in it that I have made and some that were given to me. Then the two white baskets in the back have punched out shapes. The one on the left has scalloped circles and the one on the right has various shapes. The two baskets in the front have tags that are blank and then the one on the right has blank word windows from a punch I got at Hobby Lobby a while back. On the bottom shelf I have some packing tape and ribbon!

This is another shelf I am using downstairs. I have had it for years and my mom had it for years before I got it!!! On the top left side of the shelf is my ink pads that I got from Hobby Lobby a while back. The chalks are from Memory Lane Scrapbooking Store where I was teaching classes for a while. I got it right after they first opened so it's been a little while! Then I have some TAC inks and some Cat's Eye Ink Pads from the scrapbook store!

The first basket on the middle shelf has my wheels, reinkers and cartridges along with a handle. I haven't ever used any of this yet and it's been a while since I got it all. Maybe I can play with it after I get everything where it belongs! Then the next basket has my sponges, daubers, swabs, cotton balls, etc. The plastic container with a lid has my acrylic blocks inside of it. Very handy for keeping them all together. The botoom row has some markers I got from the Dollar Tree for when kids craft with me. Then I have all my TAC markers and pens in the Clam Shell case. My Bic Mark It's are in their case beside that. I still have colored pencils, watercolor pencils, journaling pens and more markers to put away but at least this is a good start. I have a lot more to get done and hopefully over the next couple days I will make even more progress. Thanks for hanging out with me. Tickled Pink!

Hey, everyone!

Today's project is a gift set. The little box holds the sticky note holder perfectly! I haven't given this away yet but I wanted to show you how easy it is to make a small gift that can really mean a lot!
I created this little box just by playing around with different measurements. I thought it would be fun to add some of the Winterberry paper and my shiny satin ribbon.
I am not sure why it appears flourescent but the pink scalloped circle really isn't like it looks here in real life! LOL
The monogram letter is stamped with the Scripty Bet stamp set in Belle Rose ink and then gone over with the pink Stardust Glitter Gel Pen. The scalloped circle is embellished with my Extreme White Gel Pen. The notepad cover is embellished with the Stardust Glitter Gel Pen in faux stitching around the circle and doodle dots on the scallops. I hope you like it! BUTTERFLY KISSES

Hey, everyone!

I couldn't make a Valentine card for my son and leave my baby girl out, so I made this card for her! She loves to give "butterfly kisses" by blinking her eyelashes across my cheek. She is so sweet!!! You can't tell it so much by the photo but there's a lot of glitter on this card! I know she will love it!
I used Sketch #2 on page 3 in the fall/winter 2008 The Angel Company Inspiration Book and Catalog. The paper is premium white cardstock (V-290), Brown Cardstock (V-235), Pink 2 (V-92) and Winterberry (V-903). I used my pink Tombow marker from the Brights collection (F-01) to ink up my Speckle stamp (T-19) for the top portion. I then added Prisma glitter (A-287) on top of that. The pink scalloped circle was made with the Mega Scalloped Circle (D-700), the white circle was punched out with the Super Jumbo Circle (D-73). I used my pink Tombow marker to stamp the butterfly kisses stamp from Kid Praises (T-2686). I colored the butterfly in with my Stardust Glitter Gel Pens (F-462) and doodle dots and designs were made with the Brown Memory Marker (F-165).

Giving!

Hey, everyone!

I just wanted to share a couple awards that I received recently. I really appreciate being chosen for these blog awards and it means so much to me when I get an award along with a nice compliment. It really makes me feel good!

Thank you, Christina! I appreciate the award so much. I do try to comment on everyone's blog that I visit and even though I don't get to always leave a little love, it is something I try to do! I know that comments are sometimes seen as too much trouble when you're blog hopping but it feels so great to hear someone say that they like something I made or shared, and as a new stamper, it really encourages me to keep stamping, keep improving, keep learning and keep sharing! So to all of you awesome friends of mine who leave me comments, please consider yourself chosen for this award! THANK YOU!!! I appreciate it so much! Now for another gift....a birthday gift for my father-in-law. He is a professional carpenter and when I saw this project on Mel's blog I knew I had to make this for his birthday! He likes PayDay candy bars so there's six standing inside the box.

I used silver brads and a black marker for faux stitching. I found some carpenter tool clip art so I printed them off and my husband used my markers to color them in realistically.

I know the photos are a little dark. I apologize for that. It was late when I snapped the photos but I am glad I did because my husband gave the box to his dad the next day! LOL I hope you like this nifty tool belt birthday box! I think it turned out pretty cute! If you make one, I'd love to know about it! BEAUTY

Hey, everyone!

It's already Wednesday and that means it is time to share my page for this week's scripture challenge. For week 3 the key word is BEAUTY and when I think of real, true beauty I do not think of super models or some hottie on the cover of all the magazines, but I think of God's awesome creations. Have you ever just watched the sun rise in the morning or set in the evening? Have you looked at a big, bright full moon in the night sky surrounded by millions and millions of stars? You ever notice how beautiful a lake is on a summer day or how majestic those huge trees are in the woods? Incredibly tall mountains and delicate flowers could not be compared with anything that society considers beautiful. God's awesome creation is not beauty that can be duplicated! I am in awe of how beautiful our world is and I know that beauty mirrors God!

Here is my page...my daughter helped me with it! She loved the embossing. Do you recognize the stamp? It's from the Butterfly Swirls stamp set. It's just stamped with VersaMark and covered with silver embossing powder!

Prayers, Candy and a Project!

Hey, everyone!

How are you doing? I hope you are all healthy and happy! Health. Isn't that such a tiny word? So tiny we usually don't think of it...until it's at risk or gone! I think of this because my uncle John is fighting every second for his life! He gasps for air, needs a cane to help him walk across the floor. He has bone cancer and lung cancer and it was in his brain and liver but those areas had improved. I am trusting in God, MY HEALER, that He will give us a miracle and restore my uncle's health. Do I believe in miracles? Yes I do!! Do I really believe that someone can be in the clutches of death and God can snatch them back and restore them even better than before? Yes, I do!! I have seen God's healing powers before. He isn't scared of cancer. By the stripes on Jesus' body before He gave His life, my uncle has healing! Pray for him, please!!!!

Announcements, projects, blog candy and more!

Hey everyone!

I will try not to make this too long of a post but I have some really great stuff to share with you all today! This will be the last blog post to write before the New Year and I am just finding that so hard to believe! Anyone with me? Wow!

Okay, well, first up I have a few announcements that I want to share. I am really excited about telling you this news and could hardly wait to post! I hope you are as excited as I am!

First of all, The Angel Company will not be releasing a new catalog in February '09. The new catalog will be coming out this summer and the images are all going to be 100% so what you see in the catalog is what you get! Woohoo! I am so excited about that! TAC won't leave us hanging until then to get some fabulous new stamps, though! TAC is coming out with a new magalogue! This is going to be so much fun and I thought I would just give you a sneak peek at some of our new stamps.

For the second announcement, I would like to share that Anita, from Memory Lane Scrapbooking store, called me today and asked me to do a class in January and February. My first class with the store will be January 13 which is a Tuesday evening. Stop by the store and sign up! I'll have samples in the store soon so you can see what you are signing up for! I will post them here, as well.

Starting on Tuesday, January 6, I will have the StampTACular Tuesday challenges back up. I'd love for you to join in the fun! No prizes will be awarded but I will keep a link up all month long of those who participate in the challenge. I'd love to see what you will come up with. This month's featured stamp will be An 'Udder Birthday. I love this stamp set and I think you will, too, once you see all the different ways you can use this stamp set!

My final announcement (for today, anyway) is that I have been asked by many of my customers when I was going to teach another class using our fabulous TAC stamps. I know many of you would like to learn new techniques, also. I realize January isn't the easiest time of year to spend a lot of money, especially in our house with 2 December birthdays and Christmas just getting over with, so I have decided to offer a class for FREE! More details will be in my January Newsletter. If you haven't signed up for that yet, it's easy. The sign up box is in a blue box on the side panel to the right. I will be sending the Newsletter out soon and you won't want to miss it this month!

And last, but certainly not least, here is a cute little book I created using one of my most favorite tools, my Bind-It-All! This book has 12 lined notebook pages inside...one for each month of the year, so I can write my goals and ideas of things I'd like to accomplish in 2009. It was so simple to put together. I used Mulberry Meadow paper for the outside covers. Isn't it beautiful? I love this paper. The inside is a light blue cardstock (not sure the color name) and decorated the front cover with some foam stickers and some chipboard numbers I had from my scrapbook stash! I really love how it turned out and it was put together in just a few minutes!

I want to wish you all a very happy and safe New Year's eve as you say good-bye to 2008 and say hello to 2009! I am eager for a new and fresh year full of possibilites and will be celebrating at home with my family, playing games, snacking and counting down the final moments of this year!
