St. Patrick's Day StampTACular Tuesday Challenge

Hey, everyone!

Thank you for stopping by today! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! This is a wonderful day. My daughter and I will be making our traditional sugar cookies with green sprinkles on them but I will also be sharing this tradition with my son who is 19 months old today! I am so excited to see what he thinks of baking cookies for the first time ever!

I made a card to share with you for the StampTACular Tuesday Challenge. Christina and I love St. Patrick's Day so we are using the Celtic Images stamp set. This is a fantastic set!! Be sure you check out what Christina made and leave her a little love! I decided to just share a card with you all today. I have shared other St. Patrick's Day items the past few days so today I just made a card. I wanted to show how versatile it is to use this stamp with other elements besides Willoughby. This designer paper is from the JUST LIKE DAD paper pack that we carry. The stamp is inked in Viridian Leaf and then colored in with my green Stardust Glitter Gel Pen and it really shimmers! I used my white gel pen for the doodle dots and faux stitches. I hope you like it!

St. Patrick's Day Treat Pouch

Hey, everyone!

I have had a great weekend and I hope you have, too. It was such a beautiful day on Sunday and I was able to be out and about and enjoy most of it! I made some more progress in my new craft space downstairs. Many of you that follow my blog know that I have moved my craft items into the basement and I have been working on organizing everything a little here and there so that I can have everything where I want it. I am excited about the progress, especially since I can see the transformation and I know it won't be long and I will be able to just hang out and create fun stuff in my craft space instead of going in spurts or just making quick and easy projects!

I absolutely love St. Patrick's Day and I have a really fun project to show you! It was so easy to make but I had a little bit of a hard time trying to decide just how to make it all work. This is a candy bar/treat holder:
The stamp is not from The Angel Company. It is a Tilda stamp and it's so much fun to color in and play with! This is the first time since I bought her that I got a chance to ink her up! I stamped her in Noir Hybrid Palette ink on watercolor paper and colored her in with my Bic Mark-It's. I loved how fun it was to do the shading! The stamp is actually called a Magnolia stamp but many people call these stamps Tilda stamps. This one was purchased in the US and I am so excited!! I love it! It is an angel company, though, meaning I could stamp this on a card and sell that card without worrying about breaking any copyright laws.
The pouch is 6"x12" and scored at 6". The paper is Willoughby from The Angel Company. I adhered the bottom and right ends together. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in the top for the ribbon. The ribbon is from Walmart and it has little clovers on it and I thought it was cute! The white cloud is just cut free hand and then I inked the edges with Reflection Blue Hybrid Palette ink and using my glue pen I traced the edge and added Prisma Glitter to make it shimmer. I also added some glitter below her feet!
As you can see, it will hold a regular size Kit Kat bar and even a card or whatever else you wanted to tuck inside. I just randomly cut some pink, blue and yellow cardstock to come out of the cloud like a rainbow and attached 4 leaf clovers from the Celtic Images stamp set to the ends.
The Prisma Glitter is absolutely my favorite glitter of all. It's ultra-fine and so sparkly!
I stamped the clovers in Viridian Leaf Hybrid Palette ink and then cut them out. I colored them in with my green Stardust Glitter Gel Pen. Then I stamped the vase from a retired stamp set and cut the top off to make my pot. The pot is stamped in Noir Hybrid Palette ink. I cut a piece of scrap paper, just random, then inked it up with Sunflower Hybrid Palette ink and then adhered it to the back of the pot. The gold shimmer comes from my yellow Stardust Glitter Gel Pen. The 4 leaf clovers and pot of gold are up on pop dots for dimension. I hope you have fun creating your own treat pouches using some of your favorite things, too!

CELTIC IMAGES

Hey, everyone!

I have always wanted to go to Ireland...it's been a dream of mine for many years! I have always enjoyed everything relating to the Irish. My mom always made something fun for us kids during each holiday...and now that I am a mother I do the same thing for my children. Kadesia is 7 years old and Javan is only 1½ years old so there were several years that it was just Kadesia. We started a tradition of making cookies...sugar cookies and then we added green sprinkles or green frosting. I love this tradition. I am eager to see what Javan thinks of the tradition this year!

I had a FunShop last month with Sue and her wonderful family. I enjoyed it so much. Carolyn Sue wanted to make Easter and St. Patrick's Day cards and I posted them to my blog for you all to see. The stamp set I used for the St. Patrick's Day card is called Celtic Images from The Angel Company. It is a set of 5 for only $10.95 found on page 49 of the fall/winter 2008 Catalog and Idea Book. The item number is T-788. I stamped each image in Viridian Leaf Hybrid Palette ink. Here is what the stamp set looks like (click on the image for a closer view):

I took some time to research online what the various symbols stood for and here is what I learned:

The cross symbol represents the very highest ideas and aspirations of the Celts. It also represents a bridge or passage between heaven and earth with the 4 arms being: fire, earth, air and water. The ring in the center is God's infinite or endless love. It can also represent a halo emanating from the Christ.

The circle is a symbol of purity...often used when a new baby is born.

The heart is a symbol of charity, joy, compassion, romantic love or the "Sacred Heart" of Christ.

The knots are for best wishes of longevity or luck with new endeavors.

The claddagh is a sign of betrothal, friendship and love. The heart is for love, the crown for loyalty and the hands for friendship.

The 4 leaf clover represents:
FAME
WEALTH
LOVE
HEALTH

If you wear a clover your sweetheart will come to you.
If you possess a clover no evil can harm you.
If you dream of a clover you will live happily the rest of your days.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about the Celtic Images. This is a stamp set I am definitely glad I got. Now that I know the meanings to the symbols I think it makes the stamps more special because I can personalize cards with more than just St. Patrick's Day messages. I can even print a little card off if I wanted to describing what the particular symbol represents that I feature on my cards.

FunShop FUN!

Hey, everyone!

I am so sorry I have been absent from the blog world a little bit this week. I know that many of you like to check in each day to see what projects I have been working on. I have been really busy but it's been a good kind of busy!!! LOL I think I mentioned here before that I have been organizing my craft space downstairs and it's coming along so well! It feels great to be able to find what I need in no time at all! I love it! It's been hard work and it takes a LOT of time but I am getting there and I am very excited. I may post some pictures this weekend to show you my progress.

I have some fun cards to share with you! I think they are fun anyway! LOL So, let me just start off by saying that Saturday afternoon I went to Carolyn's house for a FunShop. Carolyn is Shelly's mom (Hi, Shelly!!) and so it was a lot of fun to see everyone again and meet one of Shelly's sisters that I hadn't met before and her father, too. Carolyn has a beautiful home and made some yummy food! It was snowy and slick with ice and rain mixed in some but we all made it safe to the FunShop and back home again! I want to show you the hostess gift and card I made Carolyn. She really liked it so that made me really happy!

This is just a small basket made from the Winterberry paper pack that I love so much! The handle is the same paper with a white cardstock base. The chick is from the HEY CHICK stamp set and is stamped in Burnt Sienna, colored in with my yellow Tombow marker from the Brights collection and then I added a little bit of yellow Fun Flock to make the chick fluffy! I used my Clever Lever Scalloped Square punch with Premium White Cardstock and added yellow doodle dots with my Stardust Glitter Gel Pen.
This is the waterfall card I made Carolyn to thank her for being the hostess. She loves pink and so I tried to go all out with the pink paper! This is also from the Winterberry paper! The stamp is Fantasy Flourishes with Prisma Glitter added for more bling! I stamped it in Belle Rose first then adhered the glitter! The "pull" sentiments are from the Interact stamp set. This is a really fun set!
This is the card, opened some to show how the waterfall card looks when you pull it down! Carolyn really liked this! Yay!!! I hope you do, too!

Carolyn wanted to make a St. Patrick's Day card and an Easter card for her party so I came up with two cards that were really simple and easy to make more than one since she wants to make cards and give them out. Here is the Easter card I made to demonstrate:

The yellow patterned paper is from the Gentle Beginnings set. I love, love, love that paper! I bought it to use with baby papers but I have used it for so many other things since! The "Easter" sentiment is one of our current Gift With Purchase stamps you get FREE with any $30 purchase. The chick and "Peep, Peep" sentiment is stamped in Burnt Sienna. The "corn" is using the Speckles stamp set and Sunflower ink. Then I added my yellow Stardust Glitter Gel Pen to each speckle for some bling. This chick got some yellow Fun Flock also. It was so much fun to see everyone trying to use the Fun Flock for the first time! My, what fuzzy chicks! LOL I love it!!!

I know it's kind of blurry but this is a close-up so you can see the glitter corn, LOL, and the fuzzy chick!

This is the St. Patrick's Day card I made to demonstrate:
I stamped the 4 leaf clover from the Celtic Images stamp set. The horseshoes I stamped on the Willoughby cardstock using the Wild West stamp set in VersaMark. I used the green Stardust Glitter Gel Pen for the clovers and the horseshoes. The white doodle dots on the black scalloped circle were made with my Extreme White Gel Pen. I added some Prisma Glitter to the main 4 leaf clover image. I think it came together well! It was so fun to see everyone's ideas on how to make this card! So fun!!
I didn't add a sentiment but I will later! The GWP stamp we have in our catalog right now would work great, but so would the Trendy Greetings stamp set. Of course, you could always make your own!

I had some kits left over from the FunShop because I always try to make extras. Kadesia asked me if she could make a card, so how could I say no? LOL She had so much fun and I think she did a really great job! My daughter just got accepted into a new pen pal group over at SplitCoastStampers and she already has one pen pal that she loves dearly so you know who will be getting some of these cards! This is my daughter's version of this card for her pen pals:

She didn't want hers to open like a book, she said. She wanted it to open a "different way" so this is her version! I think it is really sweet!
She loves that glitter, can you tell? LOL
