Scripture Challenge CREATOR

Hey, everyone!

Today's Scripture Challenge page features the word CREATOR. My thoughts kept turning back to my trip to the Creation Museum. I loved it and highly recommend going if you haven't already! I am so ready to go back anytime!! First let me show you my page and then I will share a little bit about it!

This is an 8½"x11" layout. I am using some paper I had in my stash. The title is alphabet die cuts I bought a LONG time ago!! It's been many years since I bought alphabet stickers or dies since I can make my own. The stars are from the HELLO SUNSHINE stamp set that is no longer available. I know I keep using this set but it's adorable!!! The stars are stamped in Sunflower Palette Hybrid ink. The sentiments are from the TREASURE SEEKER stamp set and is available for 25% off right now! It's on the list to be retired which makes me super sad because I love, love, love this set! My scriptures are all in New King James Version. They are:

Genesis 1:1

John 1:1-5

Isaiah 40:28

1 Peter 4:19

I think the patterned paper really adds a lot to the page. It makes me think of God's creation! I saw a video on GodTube that I really want you to watch! It's amazing!!! It goes along perfectly with this week's theme and I think you will be blessed by watching it. I learned something new from watching it and the message is very clear to me that God is definitely my CREATOR!!!!

Be sure you stop by Christina's and be blessed by what she is sharing today!

You Are A Gem!

Hey, everyone!

I wanted to make a simple project, something that was quick and easy! I am still not feeling well so I wanted to do something that wouldn't take a lot of time. I thought I'd try to make some ATC's. ATC for those of you who don't know stands for Artist Trading Cards. These are only meant to be shared and swapped, never sold. The size of the ATC's are 2½" x 3½" and you can make them in portrait or landscape position.

I thought these would be especially cute for my daughter to make for her pen pals this month. Each month she writes to new pen pals and she answers letters from pen pals she already has! We try to come up with a neat card for her to make for each girl and with a long list of pen pals, plus a little girl who gets distracted pretty easily (LOL), I think this might be just the project for her.

I used Black Cardstock, Gentle Beginnings paper (retired), and Premium White Cardstock all from The Angel Company. The stars are from the HELLO SUNSHINE stamp set that was available last month! I am still lovin' this set! I used Reflection Blue Palette Hybrid Ink for the stars. The black ribbon is something I already had in my basket. The sentiment is from one of my most favorite stamp sets TREASURE SEEKER and it is being retired soon! If you don't have this set, I would highly recommend it. It's got a lot of great sayings in it and right now it's 25% off! I will definitely continue to use this set over and over!

Thanks for checking out my blog today! I hope to have more fun things to share with you over the weekend! Enjoy your day!

Scripture Challenge FRUIT

Hey, everyone!
Time for this week's Scripture Challenge scrapbook page. This week's word is FRUIT. I knew right away what stamps I could use for this page! I am using Hello Sunshine to make apples, oranges, grapes and blueberries. I have a retired GWP stamp of cherries and a previous SOTM set that has a watermelon slice in it! I have other fruit stamps too that are not from The Angel Company.
The scriptures I used are all in the King James Version. You can click on the scripture links to read from Bible Gateway if you want.
Fruit always makes me think of the summer season. I love to eat juicy watermelon, sweet peaches, crunchy red apples and soft bananas! It's nature's dessert! So sweet and good. I remember eating raspberries from the vine when I was growing up until my hands were all stained and my belly ached! Mmmm! So yummy! However, if you don't eat fruit fast enough it will not be good anymore. That is BAD fruit! LOL Yuck! Only fresh fruit for me please! Funny, that is how God prefers us to be...bearing GOOD FRUIT. We always produce fruit in every situation and circumstance we find ourselves in. It's up to us to choose to produce good fruit because we are in the Word, seeking God's face and not His hands, trusting Him and leaning on Him to guide and direct us. OR..... we can choose to produce BAD fruit by doing what we FEEL like, letting our own emotions and selfish desires dictate what we do and say to others. I don't know about you but I desire to be the good fruit! In John 15 we see that Jesus says that is how we glorify the Father...by bearing much fruit and that is how we will be known as His disciples!
I love the passage in Luke in particular. Sometimes we think we are bearing good fruit, maybe our intentions are good and our heart is in the right place, but we are so worried about the faults of those around us that we forget to look at ourselves. The Bible says when we do that we are hypocrites! We are judging others who may not know the Savior instead of loving them the way He does and praying for them! We can show our good fruit to them and be a light without ever preaching to them or shoving our faith in their face! The Bible tells us to be instant in season and out. That means we need to always be ready with an answer of why we believe what we do and be able to share it with those that ask. Just like when we cannot have fresh berries in the winter, frozen ones can still be used for pies and cobblers so we can enjoy the GOOD fruit whether they are in season or not! I pray that I will always bear much fruit and that my fruit will be good!

Hop over to Christina's blog. She has a wonderful FRUIT page to share with you today. Go be blessed by her scrapbook page and let her know if it blesses you! I'd love to hear from you if you are taking this challenge or maybe you just wanted to check out today's challenge page! I always love to hear from you!

Apples and Oranges

Hey, everyone!

I have had pen pals since I was in elementary school. I have kept up with a couple of pen friends for several years but most of my friendships via snail mail sort of tapered off through the years. Knowing I have written to pen pals all over the world, my daughter asked me over and over if I would get her a pen pal. I asked a friend of mine if she would be her pen pal. Debbi Doodles is a dear friend of mine and lives in another state. She was more than happy to spoil my daughter with sweet little notes, fun letters, pictures, and lots of presents! Kadesia is always so happy to hear from her. I signed my daughter up with some pen pals over at SplitCoastStampers recently. She is excited about the new pen friends she is making. This week she will be making 5 of these cards to mail to her pen pals! I made a sample card for her. The paper is a retired TAC designer collection called Finger Paints. I love the vivid colors! The stamp set is the HELLO SUNSHINE that I am so crazy about and check out the scalloped edge using my new cloud scissors that I can't stop talking about! LOL The ink I used is all Palette Hybrid: L'Amore Red, Viridian Leaf and Orangerie.

I went into Old Navy on Thursday to kill some time before Javan and I had lunch with Paul. I saw these adorable nail files for only $1.50 per pack. Have you seen these? They only had one package of orange left when I was in there but several of the apple so I got one of each. I thought they would go great with this card and each of Kadesia's pen pals can get a slice of orange and a slice of apple! The package says to "Snap off a segment and file away!" I think they are super cute! They will make a fun little tuck-in for her friends!

I have some exciting (and a little bit sad....) news to share with you all that happened over the weekend! First of all on Saturday Paul and I had gone down to the campsite where my husbands' parents were camping out with our kids. We were picking Javan up and while I was finishing eating Kadesia said, "Look Momma!" I turned to see her whizzing by on her bicycle and she said "No training wheels!" Well I was so excited but I felt a lump in my throat and hardly could find my voice to tell her how proud of her I was! I remembered too well her bicycle wreck and how scary that was for both of us! But I know I have to give my babies roots and wings...just hard to watch them flapping their wings so early! You know? So for the other exciting/sad news...LOL! Yesterday my mom was giving Javan a hair cut and afterwards decided to put him in the tub so I could get him into his pajamas! We've been sitting on the potty all last week and I just wasn't sure he was quite ready because he would only tell me AFTER he had already gone in his pull-up! So my mom and I were in the bathroom with Javan and he was standing up in her garden tub and he said PEE MOMMY! I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty and he said yes so I let him but wondering if it was just for "fun" again! LOL I saw him shiver and then HE DID IT! He peed in the potty like a big boy! I am so excited and super sad! He may have only had that one victory right now and maybe won't really be ready for a little longer but I am not sure I am ready. My mom tells me it is time but my heart says NOT YET! He's my baby, my last baby! I just took some of his baby toys out of his toybox for an upcoming garage sale we're having and with each pile of clothes, it tears at my heartstrings. I know he will be 2 in August but that just can't be right! Where does the time go? I've always been told to savor all the moments because it doesn't last and believe me I have tried! I hold on for dear life to every precious word and moment that I can!! It is so hard to watch my beautiful babies grow up and depend on me less and less but I take comfort in knowing that they need me now and will for a while longer...so I will thank God for blessing me with these two beautiful children and pray that I don't mess up too bad! I know I don't always get it right but I sure want to!!!
Thanks for hanging out with me today and sharing my project with me! If you want the Hello Sunshine stamp set there is still time to order it! Just let me know but after May 31 it will be gone so don't put it off! Tomorrow is StampTACular Tuesday and we have a fun Challenge for all of you to join in! Christina and I have a really fun project to share with you and I haven't seen hers yet so it will be a fun surprise for me, too, but I know it will be great! Wednesday is the Scripture Challenge and it will be a really fun one to share! I am not totally done with it just yet but I am very excited about what I am coming up with! See ya then!

Hello Sunshine

Hey, everyone!

My daughter and I have been coloring images this week, different evenings...just our "girl time" and we have a lot of fun. I love the free coloring pages you can get online and these Sarah Kay images are no exception. They are super fun to color! I save them and then adjust the size I want them to be. It's fun to make them for card fronts. I enjoyed coloring this image. Kadesia loved it when she saw it and asked if she could have it. I, of course, told her she could! She asked me to make her a card with it and I told her I would. She doesn't know it's going to be for her promotion to the 2nd grade card. Wow! Time flies. I feel like it was just yesterday I was taking my little 3 year old daughter to preschool and now she is ready for the second grade and my little boy isn't much younger than she was going to preschool for the first time. Wow!

Believe me...this card looks much better IRL. I do not know why I couldn't get a better photo but at least it is done! LOL I am using the Kaleidoscope Brites paper pack, Tutti Frutti paper pack, my new cloud scissors...see the scallops?... and the Hello Sunshine stamp set. I am using Heather Scott's Sketch #63. I hope you will make a fun card today, too!

Have a great weekend! I hope you'll have a chance to pop in and see what I have to share with you over the holiday but if not I will see you again next week!

Smile Cuz UR Cute!

Hey, everyone!

It is really hard to believe the week is winding down so fast! It will soon be Memorial Day weekend! It also means only two more days (not counting today) of school left. That is pretty hard to believe! Do you have big plans for the weekend? Whatever you do I hope you stay safe and have fun!!

I am not sure what all I will be doing this weekend but I do know that I don't have a shortage of things to accomplish on my To Do list. I hope to get a little time in for some fun crafting! I made this card using my new Hello Sunshine stamp set. If you haven't ordered this set yet but have it on your wish list, be sure you grab it before the end of the month. It's only $10.50 and there are many, many cute stamps in this set! I used a sketch from Heather Scott. She is so awesome about putting the measurements on the sketches so that helps me a lot! Click HERE for some cute samples using the Spring Into May Rewards stamp sets. They are really awesome! You can get FREE digital downloads, also, that coordinate with our Clever Lever Punches! Don't miss it!

Thanks for hanging out with me today! I'll be sharing some more projects using the Hello Sunshine and Dear Friend stamp sets that I just recently purchased. I also have some fun things to share with you featuring my new Cloud Scissors. If you haven't already ordered these I would definitely recommend them! They make beautiful scallop edges!

For You Dear Friend

Hey, everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a very busy one but it was fun and now it's time for the last full week of school! My daughter is excited about summer vacation but I think she will miss school a little because she loves going and she does so well. I am looking forward to having her home with me and her brother all day! I have lots of fun things planned for us to do!

To start off this week's projects, I first have to tell you that Saturday we got our mail late in the evening. We were busy and just hadn't made it to the mailbox any earlier. I asked Kadesia to check it while I was getting her brother strapped into his car seat. We were going to take a little drive so we could just get out for a little while and my plan was to get the kids to fall asleep and it worked! LOL So I was surprised when she said, "Momma you got a package! It's from The Angel Company." I was excited at first, then thought okay wait, who ordered something? Then I realized it was me! Yay! LOL I ordered the Dear Friend stamp set from the Serendipity magalogue, Cloud Scissors (which I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!) from the main catalog, and Hello Sunshine from the Spring Into May Rewards special! I am eager to show you what I made with these stamps!
Here it is! I totally CASE'd this card but cannot remember from where so if you think you might know where, feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. It was so easy to make that I ended up making EIGHT of them very quickly! I have some plans for a few of these cards already!!!
The sentiment is from the Dear Friend stamp set. The stars are from the Hello Sunshine stamp set. (Side note: you absolutely should get this fun little stamp set and it's only $10.50 from now through the end of this month!!!) I stamped the sentiment in Noir Palette Hybrid Ink and the stars are in Sunflower Palette Hybrid Ink. I went over the stars with my Stardust Glitter Gel Pen to make it a little more shimmery and fun! This is a super easy card to make so I hope you will definitely try it! If you do, let me know!

Thanks for stopping by today! I had fun showing you my cards. Be sure you come back tomorrow and invite a friend! Christina and I are having TEA FOR TWO tomorrow! You'll see what I mean during our StampTACular Tuesday Challenge!!

Hugs,
