Sparkle

Hey, everyone!

Today is the very last day you can place an order until July 1!!! If you want to purchase any stamps on THIS list of retiring stamp sets, this is your last opportunity to do so! Remember the sets are 25% off right now! With the special code in the newsletter this month, you can get one free BONUS $30 punch on your Valued Customer Reward Card! Let me know if you want to place an order before 5 p.m.
This card is made with the Circle Sampler stamp set using L'Amore Red, Starry Night and Sunflower Palette inks. The sentiment is from the Sparkle stamp set and is currently on the list of retiring stamps. I added Prisma Glitter for more "sparkle" and it turned out very shimmery! Love, love, love it! This is a fun card to kick off the summer season and especially as the 4th of July is nearing!
Thanks for coming by today! I am eager to see the new catalog! They should be here by Monday but I am eager to see them and hoping they'll be here on Saturday! My open house is coming up very soon, just a couple weeks away! I am planning on having a fun event to show off the new catalog, teach a couple techniques and demo some of our awesome tools and accessories! More information will be coming up about that and I will be teaching a class at the Memory Lane Scrapbook store on August 6 since so many of you have asked me to teach again! Thank you for the encouragement!!!
I'll see you tomorrow! Have a great day!

STICKLES TUTORIAL

Hi, Papercrafters!
Today I have a special treat for you! My very first tutorial on my blog! Yay!!! This is one of the cards we made at my class at Memory Lane Scrapbooking store. I made a "thank you" card for the owners Angie & Anita and the friendly staff! It was such an honor to teach in their store! THANK YOU LADIES! Here's the thank you card I made for them:
Mmm! Just the thing to beat the summer heat and best of all: no calories or fat! LOL My inspiration for this card was found here: http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic_n_scratch/2008/06/tart-tangys-exi.html.
Remember you can click on any image to get a close-up!
The card I am showing you how to make today is using Stickles! I love anything with bling and shine to it!!! This is just a fun card that screams SUMMER IS HERE! You can make one quickly! You will need to gather your supplies:
You will need to cut a sheet of white 8½" x 11" cardstock in half. You will then have 2 pieces measuring 8½" x 5½". You will only need one of these halves for our card. Next cut a piece of red cardstock at 4" x 5¼". You will also want to punch 2 circles. Using green cardstock, punch a 1½" circle. For the white piece you can go ahead and punch a circle measuring 1¼" or wait until after you add the image to it.

Next you will tie the red and white checked ribbon around the red piece of cardstock. Be sure to trim the ends for a nice finish to your bow or knot.
In the bottom, right-hand corner of this piece of cardstock, you can stamp your sentiment. I am using the TACTM Sparkle stamp set. It is found on page 68 of our fall/winter 2008 Inspiration Book & Catalogue. The item number is T-2947. This set was in the Spring Supplement and I got it then. I am so glad to see it featured in our fall/winter catalog, too. It's a great set!!

Now we are ready to add the image to our white cardstock circle. If you haven't cut your circle out, that is fine to wait until after you add the image. I am using a retired GWP (gift with purchase) stamp from The Angel Company. I have my Tombow markers (using the Bright set F-01) and I will just color the image of the stamp with my markers. Before I stamp the image I will huff on the stamp, or just breathe onto it, to get the ink wet again.

Now we can start to assemble the card.

Adhere the red layer to the front of your card. Take your green circle and adhere it to the bottom left-hand side of the red cardstock.

Add pop dots (p. 121 in our catalog) to the back of the white circle. It will add dimension to your card and make the cherries stand out! At this point you can add stickles to the image. You can use your Marvy Heat Tool (F-163) to speed up the drying process, but be careful that you don't burn your paper.

And here's your finished card!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial! If you make this card, please let me know! I would love to see it! If you have any questions, please just send me an e-mail at hoosier_card_angel@yahoo.com or you can leave me a comment here! Have fun using Stickles! They come in a wide array of colors and add so much "pop" to your cards and projects! Be sure you check back tomorrow because the tutorial will be for the Waterfall card!

Hey, everyone!!

I wanted to share another peek of our prize table with you!! This generous donation was given by Angie and Anita from Memory Lane Scrapbooking!! Stop by and see them (next to Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Maurice's) and while you are shopping for even more fun stuff to bring to our STAMP OUT CANCER and CROP FOR A CURE fundraiser, tell them how much you appreciate their gift!!! I bet you want to see it now, huh? Okay!! There are 2 seperate gift certificates PLUS new, fun goodies!!! A couple of you ladies will be very happy when your number is drawn for these items!! Here it is:
And I thought I would post a card I made using the embossing resist technique! It was so fun to do. I used our scallop punch D-700, embossing stamp pad S-775, Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel F-170, glitter glue, Claret inkpad TT-194, Sparkle stamp set T-2947 from the Spring Supplement. The flower stamp is one I just got in a set recently at an outlet store. Thanks for looking and for instructions on how to do this technique, check out Dawn's awesome video tutorial!

RELAX!

Hey, everyone!
I love my new TAC stamps, if you didn't know! (LOL) They're a lot of fun to play with and create fun cards with! This is my first attempt at a Matchbox card without any directions/instructions/measurements to speak of. I saw a card I wanted to try, an invitation, to be exact. I never copy a card piece by piece, but rather I am inspired by several sources and then come up with my own design! This is not exactly ready for the magazines, but it really speaks to me. The birds seem so relaxed and as if they are just waiting for the next great thing to happen! I wanted to make a spring-ish card and loved using words like laugh, enjoy, relax, delight and live to remember. This card is a reminder to reflect on all that God has blessed us with and enjoy it. I think about my planner that is so beat up from rifling back and forth through the pages (though it is only March) and how we can be so busy with life, events, appointments, activities and our own agendas that we often miss out on the simple, good things we have in abundance in our lives. I feel like God is whispering to me, "Rest in Me. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and sit with Me for awhile." He is such an awesome God! I am so thankful that I know Him. Do you? I just love Him so much!
