Tooth Fairy Saga

Hey, everyone!
Well, it certainly has been entertaining at our house today! Let me share with you a very funny story about a certain little Princess named Kadesia and her recent run-in with the Tooth Fairy!

It all started yesterday when Princess Kadesia's front tooth was about to fall out. Hannah came over and so kindly extracted it from Princess Kadesia's mouth! After lots of oohs and aahs and drama, she ended the day by carefully placing her tooth inside her very special tooth box. This is no ordinary box. It is absolutely adorable and she received it as a gift from her great-uncle Randy, great-aunt Emily, and cousins Lucas, Mitch and Maggie, while she was in the hospital after her big entrance into the world! She has waited for a long time, six whole years, to be able to put her baby teeth in this precious little box.
Last night, she wasn't feeling well and decided to sleep in the living room but left her tooth box under her pillow in her bedroom, thinking that is where the Tooth Fairy would look first! So, today I had her to go and check under the pillow to see if the Tooth Fairy had paid her a visit. She was a little doubtful as she said, "Probably not. It might confuse her if I didn't sleep in my own bed!" But she went ahead and checked anyway.

She came back with a ONE DOLLAR BILL in her hand! "Oh!," I said. "She did come after all! She left you ONE DOLLAR! Wow!!!" Princess Kadesia looked disgusted as she said, "Yeah!" So I asked her what was the matter. Wasn't it enough to receive a dollar? "Well," Princess Kadesia huffed, "she took my tooth AND my tooth box."

"Surely not!"

"Uh-huh! I left it right under the corner of my pillow and now it's gone. I looked everywhere and I know she took it! I'm writing her a letter!"

At this point, laughter is welling up inside me but I know Princess Kadesia would be so angry if I dared to laugh at such a very serious issue. It was hard but I stifled it.

"Oh, you are? Well, what will the letter say? I just cannot believe that the Tooth Fairy would take your little tooth box. After all, it would be very heavy to fly with, especially with that big bag of teeth she has to carry around the world with her."

"I know she has it!" Princess Kadesia insisted. "So, I'm writing her a letter and telling her to give me back my box! I'm going to ask her if she took it and put yes or no. And I'm leaving my pen, too, so she can circle whichever one!"

"Okay," I said. "But maybe we should look around more and see if it just got knocked over or something. I'd hate to falsely accuse the Tooth Fairy of taking your tooth box. She might get offended."

"Well, I'm not trying to criticize," said six-year-old Princess Kadesia. "I just want my box back. And if she took it, I can tell God and He will go straight to Fairyland and get it back for me!"

"Well, yes He could." I said and really tried so hard not to laugh at her entire dilemma.

So, after all the hoopla, my daughter wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy, all by herself, and she will be leaving it under her pillow tonight, if we are still unable to locate the missing tooth box. I asked if she and the tooth fairy were still friends and she just looked at me as if she couldn't believe I would dare ask such an obsurd question and said, "Well, yeah!" Then she decided to draw a picture of the Tooth Fairy wearing a skort.

Ah, my sweet baby is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!
Hugs,
Bridgett

What a precious story! LOL I laughed the whole way through, but don't tell Kadesia that. I love her written note, and I can't wait to hear how the saga turns out!
