Today I have a special treat for you! My very first tutorial on my blog! Yay!!! This is one of the cards we made at my class at Memory Lane Scrapbooking store. I made a "thank you" card for the owners Angie & Anita and the friendly staff! It was such an honor to teach in their store! THANK YOU LADIES! Here's the thank you card I made for them:
Mmm! Just the thing to beat the summer heat and best of all: no calories or fat! LOL My inspiration for this card was found here: http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic_n_scratch/2008/06/tart-tangys-exi.html.
Remember you can click on any image to get a close-up!
The card I am showing you how to make today is using Stickles! I love anything with bling and shine to it!!! This is just a fun card that screams SUMMER IS HERE! You can make one quickly! You will need to gather your supplies:
You will need to cut a sheet of white 8½" x 11" cardstock in half. You will then have 2 pieces measuring 8½" x 5½". You will only need one of these halves for our card. Next cut a piece of red cardstock at 4" x 5¼". You will also want to punch 2 circles. Using green cardstock, punch a 1½" circle. For the white piece you can go ahead and punch a circle measuring 1¼" or wait until after you add the image to it.Next you will tie the red and white checked ribbon around the red piece of cardstock. Be sure to trim the ends for a nice finish to your bow or knot.
In the bottom, right-hand corner of this piece of cardstock, you can stamp your sentiment. I am using the TACTM Sparkle stamp set. It is found on page 68 of our fall/winter 2008 Inspiration Book & Catalogue. The item number is T-2947. This set was in the Spring Supplement and I got it then. I am so glad to see it featured in our fall/winter catalog, too. It's a great set!!
Now we are ready to add the image to our white cardstock circle. If you haven't cut your circle out, that is fine to wait until after you add the image. I am using a retired GWP (gift with purchase) stamp from The Angel Company. I have my Tombow markers (using the Bright set F-01) and I will just color the image of the stamp with my markers. Before I stamp the image I will huff on the stamp, or just breathe onto it, to get the ink wet again.
Now we can start to assemble the card.
Adhere the red layer to the front of your card. Take your green circle and adhere it to the bottom left-hand side of the red cardstock.
Add pop dots (p. 121 in our catalog) to the back of the white circle. It will add dimension to your card and make the cherries stand out! At this point you can add stickles to the image. You can use your Marvy Heat Tool (F-163) to speed up the drying process, but be careful that you don't burn your paper.
And here's your finished card!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial! If you make this card, please let me know! I would love to see it! If you have any questions, please just send me an e-mail at hoosier_card_angel@yahoo.com or you can leave me a comment here! Have fun using Stickles! They come in a wide array of colors and add so much "pop" to your cards and projects! Be sure you check back tomorrow because the tutorial will be for the Waterfall card!
Hugs,
