More Birthday Fun!

Hey, everyone!

I have a couple projects to share with you today with a birthday theme. The first one is a gift I made for my brother. We're a year and 4 days apart in age and so how could I forget his birthday, right? Well, I did! I had been sick since my birthday and I had no clue that when I was visiting my parents and brother on Saturday that it was SEPTEMBER 6! Imagine my shock when I couldn't sleep and like 4 in the morning on Sunday I am reading blogs and see the date! Yikes! So, I decided to make him a birthday present right away! I feel so bad about that! The little shirt I made (previous post) was something I added to the front of his birthday card and then this little bag is getting filled with cards that he can give to his sweet fiance, Hannah! She loves my cards (wink) and I know he enjoys giving her things that make her happy! So on to the projects, right?

Okay, here is the bag I made my brother and isn't it so cute? I love it! It's just the right size!! Here's what the bag looks like from the front:

Here it is again from the side:

If you would like to learn how to make this really fun bag, just head on over to Ruby Tuesday: Stella's Tote 'n Tutorial.

And speaking of forgetting about birthdays...I have not been that great about remembering birthdays of my sisters in the Angelhood and Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers, so I decided I needed a way to have the birthdays listed in order, their name and address included, so I could be sure to send a card out on time! I didn't have any measurements, nothing to go by, but I've made boxes in the past so I decided why not make a cute little box to house some ATC size cards that I can embellish and add all the pertinent information on. I can just flip the card when their birthday is over!

Since I had nothing to go by, I made my own. I took a piece of textured cardstock measuring 4"x6" and then I scored it at 1" and 5" on the long side, 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" on the short side. I love my Scor-Pal. I was able to score twice on each side without moving my paper around! I simply folded along the score lines and snipped the tabs apart. I embellished with some dp, ribbon and pop dots, adding a solid red piece of cardstock on the back. I adhered the sides together with my favorite DUCK adhesive. And voila! A BIRTHDAY REMINDER BOX is complete!

Very simple and very fun! I hope you'll make one, too! Leave me a comment and let me know so I can check it out!

Hugs,

Your little tote turned out so cute and what a sweet and thoughtful idea for your brother! I like your box, too. Gosh, I need a better system for birthday reminders. I'm getting pretty bad about sending my cards late. Thanks for sharing your darling projects!
