As I sit and type this message, it is 2 a.m. and I haven't been to bed yet. LOL My regular bedtime is between 2 and 3 a.m. but I really need to change that to a few hours earlier!! I want to tell you about the beautiful weather we had Wednesday (technically yesterday but it's still part of my today...LOL). The weather was nice and warm and Javan was just so eager to play outside so I took him out to play. We went exploring in the backyard and it was so much fun! I have lots of pictures of our little outing. What fun to explore rocks, sticks and pine cones through a toddler's eyes! Things that I may see as annoying or bothersome...something to discard, he sees as hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered. I sat him on a branch of a big tree in our backyard and his eyes just lit up as he followed the branch all the way to the tip top and his arms reached as high as they would go and he whispered "biiii" which is his way of saying BIG! I watched him toddle up to his great-grandma's house next door and took a quick picture of him from the back. My heart sort of skipped a beat as I thought back to how often my precious baby girl (now 7 years old) had made that little jaunt so many times before. Doesn't time fly? The most incredible moments are sometimes missed because I am in such a hurry for this or that but I am so thankful that this year I purposed to slow down and enjoy things much more. It's been a rewarding goal to keep! After a visit with his great-grandma, playing in her house is always so much fun, then we made our way back home where he was in dire need of a nap! I gave him a banana and a drink and he was ready to relax in my arms which is where he always takes his naps and yes I do hold him the entire time just like I always did with Kadesia. I cannot bear to lay them down!
After Kadesia got home from school, she did her homework and had her snack. I told her after I cleaned up the dishes from her snack we could all go out to play. This time I took the Clorox spray and some paper towels to clean off the swing set! It needed it badly and the cleaner must have a fragrance in it because it smelled really nice! I had just put Kadesia in the tree on the same branch as her brother had been on and then lifted Javan up again when there was a roll of thunder in the distance! I know how scared Kadesia gets of storms so I decided it was time to go inside. I love thunderstorms...so relaxing but spring storms aren't always so fun!
Once Paul got home he called up his dad to ask to borrow his trailer and the kiddos went up to their great-grandma's next door to play. Paul and I cleaned off a BUNCH of stuff from our back porch! There was all kinds of things on the back porch that needed to be hauled off and many things were left over from where Paul and his dad were putting on the new siding on the house. We ripped up the old outdoor carpeting and started scraping off the glue that was left behind. It looks so much better now! We still have a lot more work to do and I am eager for spring to begin and warm weather to stick around a while so we can get it all accomplished! It's going to be great!!! Tomorrow night starts spring break week for my daughter so we are very excited about the fun things we have planned!
Sorry there's no pictures or crafts to share today. I just wanted to share what we've been up to and I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today. It's getting time for me to go to bed now. It was so wonderful to get a shower without any interruptions or anyone asking me where something is or coming to the door a hundred times just to tell me something that could have waited! LOL Now that I am refreshed and relaxed, I hope I can sleep well for the next few hours until my day starts again! Come back tomorrow and I will have something special to share with you all to kick off the first day of spring!
Hugs,
