Dahlia by Paper Jewels

Hey, everyone!
I hope you are having fun this Memorial Day weekend! Only one more day of school for my little girl as a first grader. It's so hard to believe! WOW! Time for some summer fun! I am so excited about summer vacation coming up!! I miss my daughter so much while she is in school, so I will be overjoyed to have her home with me all day!
I have some super fun things lined up for us to do like watch the free movies our local theater provides all summer, SAFE NIGHT, playing in the park, going for walks, and lots of short trips, too!
Do you ever watch the Food Network Channel? Javan and I sit in the recliner and watch Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee. You know what I'm talking about? I just love her! I like how she takes things that are sort of done up already and adds just a few ingredients to make it her own special dish. That's my kind of cooking! LOL Especially with busy schedules and during the summer I do not want to be in a hot kitchen all day cooking meals so this makes it a fun way to get homemade meals...the semi-homemade way! Well, knowing this about me, you can imagine how MUCH I love Julie's Semi-Hand Stamped projects! Her Dahlia flower was just too cute and since I own that very same heart punch I had to leave her a comment! She e-mailed me back saying she'd love to see my card and guess what? I made one right away! Here it is:
It was so fun and so easy to make. Watch her video tutorial! I love it!! I changed a couple things up just a little and my card is sort of a notecard I purchased already...I got a package of the precut, prescored with envelopes pack so all I did was sponge the outside edges with Starry Night Palette Hybrid ink, cut a piece of (retired) Finger Paints paper to 1" x 5½" and adhered it to the lower portion of my card. I then stamped the sentiment in the same color ink using the Dear Friend stamp set available in the Serendipity magalogue! Instead of a circle punch I used a scalloped circle punch and placed a blue snap in the center of my flower! Hope you like it! I love, love, love how simple this card was to make. It's not a really fancy card but it is still fun! Let me know if you make one of these cards and be sure you tell Jewels, too, because I know she'd LOVE to know!
See ya tomorrow! I have some fun things to share with you soon!

Hugs,

Hi Bridgett,
I love your dahlia! A few more petals makes it really frilly and fun. I love the scallop too! Thanks for the shout-out, and check out my blog for another version I did as a gift card holder . . .
