Scripture Challenge WISDOM

Hey, everyone!

My camera decided to die on me just as I was trying to photograph my scrapbook page for today's Scripture Challenge! I only got one shot before it bit the dust! I just love the warning it gave me...batteries exhausted! Mom's need those kinds of warnings, too! Wouldn't that be nice? You just hold up a sign that says in bright red letters, WARNING! MOM'S EXHAUSTED! Okay so here's my page:
The word for the week is WISDOM. I chose six scriptures this week and I tried to put them together in a way that would sort of flow as if trying to definie WISDOM by scripture alone. This is what I was thinking...

I remember when someone would do something kind of dumb, my grandmother would remark, "That's not wisdom!" That seemed an odd statement to me as a kid but growing up I came to understand what that phrase meant. Grandmother always taught me the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and she of course feared the LORD and did her best to live up to what God's Word says to do. She used wisdom in her decisions and by saying that phrase she was meaning that they weren't using wisdom. It's more than making a dumb mistake...it's not using the wisdom that God gives us!

Proverbs 24:3 is my first verse and it says: By WISDOM a house is built, and through understanding it is established.

Colossians 3:16 NKJV tells us to: Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all WISDOM, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the LORD.

Proverbs 15:33 NKJV is such a familiar scripture to me because of the numerous times I've heard it quoted by my grandmother. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of WISDOM, and before honor is humility.

The world teaches us to seek riches, fame and material possessions in order to be happy but the Bible says that isn't the important things in life. Proverbs 16:16 NKJV How much better to get WISDOM than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

It's fine to know WHAT to get, but HOW do you get it? James 1:5 NKJV says If any of you lacks WISDOM, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

So the source of WISDOM is from the LORD according to Proverbs 2:6 NKJV For the LORD gives WISDOM, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Isn't that awesome? It's absolutely FREE! We don't have to buy another book series or listen to a bunch of CDs with 12 steps to get wisdom, or 10 ways to smarten up! LOL We can simply pray to our Heavenly Father with a humble heart and ask Him to give us wisdom so we can learn His ways and walk in them and the Bible says He is faithful to do it! He wants to give us the keys to the Kingdom, we just have to be willing to take them and use them!

God bless you! I hope you've enjoyed the challenge today. Christina has participated again this week so be sure you check out what she has come up with. It's sure to be a blessing!

One more thing before I go, today. As I said before, Christina asked me to do this challenge with her and another girl, her name is Amber. The three of us did the Bible Study together. Amber still does the challenge, too, so go see Amber's blog and leave her some love, too!

Hugs,
