SEVEN AND A HALF...

Hey, everyone!
I had set this up to post on Saturday but for some reason it never did, so here it is! Her half-birthday was yesterday but you can still check it out:
Today is my daughter's HALF birthday!

Kadesia was my first child. She is my miracle baby #1!! God is so faithful!!! Kadesia was born on December 27, 2001, just two days after Christmas. I have a cousin who is a Christmas baby and watched other family members either ignore his birthday altogether or give him a gift for BOTH! My mom didn't do that, though. She wrapped his birthday presents separately from his Christmas presents in wrapping paper for each occasion. She gave him a birthday card and made him a cake. She felt it was very important to separate the two occasions. So with Kadesia our family tradition is to take the Christmas tree and all decorations down on Christmas night so we can celebrate Kadesia's birthday! In southern Indiana, you cannot predict the weather (most of the year) but especially in the winter. Having elaborate birthday parties are out of the question because we have to think of those who will have to travel on icy roads, snow piled high and bitter cold temperatures. Sometimes the weather is nice but we just really never know! I decided that on June 27 I would celebrate her HALF birthday every year and starting when she was 1½ I did! I bought a little cake at the bakery and put a candle in it. I lit it and she'd blow it out (over and over because she thought that was so fun!). I sang happy birthday to her each year (and now she asks me to sing it to her in Spanish!) and she just beams!
It's getting a little harder to have one on one time as she gets older and especially now with our sweet baby boy! He has a summer birthday so it's even more important for me now to celebrate with her a little. She doesn't get gifts but she does get to pick one fun thing to do and usually she is the Queen for the day! This year she is camping with her grandparents and her baby brother, so we celebrated yesterday. I took her to Magic Morning Bakery and bought her some smiley face cookies! She loves those. She wanted me to bake brownies but I just did not get the chance. This was a fun treat for her and Javan was excited because he loves "Tookies" and just look! What's not to love?
I normally get oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut butter no bakes. These are so yummy! Don't you just want to reach your hand in that sack and grab one? Mmmm!
I was good, though! I didn't eat any of them. I did buy myself this DELICIOUS fat-free peach muffin. It has real slices of peaches inside. Oh my gosh! This was so moist and good! MMMM!
I hope you have enjoyed celebrating Kadesia's HALF birthday with me! It's been so much fun to do this each year for her! It makes me want to cry to think of my baby girl all grown up. This is a photo of her from when she was in the hospital a couple days after she was born! Isn't she beautiful?
Thank you for hanging out with me today! I will be back tomorrow with some fun things to share! Don't miss it!

Hugs,
