Got cake?

Hey, everyone!!

My mom gave me a heart-shaped cake pan that she had from when I was a little kid. I always loved when mom would make cakes in it. Mmm! So fun! My mom made every single holiday really special. She would buy us little treats and fun stuff and she sat out neat little decorations around the house, not a lot but just here and there...so you got to see a little bit of the holidays wherever you were! I love that! I don't do that but I always loved it as a kid. So when she gave me the heart-shaped cake pan I was so happy!! I wanted to bake a cake with the kiddos on Valentine's Day but we didn't get to. However, Monday night I got the cake mix in a box out, and we baked a cake! Kadesia and Javan took turns frosting it.

Javan decided he should go before sissy! LOL

Look at my little lefties! Here is the finished cake:

Now what? Lick the spatula of course! Kadesia was licking the spatula and hugging Javan when he decided he needed some, too!

Here he is cheesing it up! Little Mr. ate all the frosting and a little cake.
Look close and you can see Kadesia's got some frosting on her mouth! Aw! Sweet! She is more into the cake than the icing, though. She kept picking up bites of cake with no frosting.
Mmm! It was good cake and they enjoyed it!! I am not sure if the cake tasted better because of all the memories in the pan or if I just was in the mood for cake but I am so thankful I have that pan now! What memories do you have of Valentine's Day that you like to think on?
Angel Hugs,

My parents weren't big on celebratng the holidays, but I do the same thing your mom does. Little touches here and there so my kids know something special is going on. Your kiddos look so happy to be eating cake it not even funny LOL
