Are you trying to lose weight, or maybe just trying to be more careful about the food choices you make? Eating at home is a great way to do that, right? You can control portion sizes, the way something is prepared and you can choose lower calorie, leaner ingredients. Sometimes, though, with busy schedules and running around we may be gone around meal time. With so many fast food places, convenient drive-thru windows, sometimes it is the easiest option! We all know how difficult it is to find healthier choices when dining out, but a while back I discovered a wonderful way to figure up the best things to eat on the menu. We'll use McDonald's for an example!
First of all, click here!
First of all, click here!
Next click on the Food, Nutrition and Fitness tab.
Then you would click on the Bag a McMeal link.
Read the directions, very simple process, to pick the items you normally choose to eat and find all the nutrition facts.
I am on the Weight Watchers plan right now, so I have installed a Weight Watchers Point Calculator on my computer. It is perfect for something like this. I just put the calories, fat and fiber numbers in and click on the Calculate Points button and it will show me the total points for that item.
Many restaurants have this information posted online so if you jot down a few "better" choices in a notebook, toss it in your glovebox, and when you find your vehicle pulling up to the next restaurant you will have a few things to choose from that you know won't blow your weight loss efforts!
I hope this information is helpful to someone. What are your favorite things to eat when you dine out?
