Frugal Friday

Hey, everyone!

Today's Frugal Friday tip is for Faux Embossing. I have been doing this technique for quite some time now, several years in fact, and I really like the results. You can use up a lot of scraps doing this technique, too, which is always a good thing! I know I have LOTS of scrap paper I need to use up. First let's look at a project that has been embossed:
Isn't this a gorgeous card? Shirley Hotop created it and I absolutely love it! She used the Branches In Bloom stamp set from The Angel Company and Tag Tidbits inside. Here is a close-up of the embossing:
The Faux Embossing technique I am sharing with you today will be compared to the white piece that is embossed in the photo above. To achieve this look, simply take two punches or cut out two shapes that are about ¼" different in size. I used white cardstock but you could use any color paper. Simply layer one on top of the other like in the photo above. I used a sentiment from Tag Tidbits, as well. You could also sponge the edges of each piece before layering if you wanted to. This technique is so quick and easy to do, you can faux emboss several pieces in no time! I'd love to see your projects if you use this tip! Have a wonderful day!
Angel Hugs,

Thanks for sharing my card on your blog - your photo surely did it justice (my photo skills are not great). Hope everyone enjoyed your class.

I also love Shirley's card--it's in my box of favorites! Great idea layering punches! I would have never thought to do that.
