Hey, everyone!
Welcome to Bridgett's Book Club! LOL

It looks more like a bookstore, huh? I have to be honest in telling you that I do not read! I used to love reading and when I was younger I always had my nose stuck in a book! Mom would take us to the library and I would get the maximum number of books that I could get and I would read every single one of them in the two weeks. Now our local library tells me there is no limit to the books you can rent!!!
As a mother, I read. I read headlines (not articles) in the newspaper. I skim ads for bargains. I hurry through emails and try to read through each person's blog I follow. I don't sit down with a book and just read for my personal enjoyment. I read to my children. I love reading to them! I just don't set aside time for reading for me!
One thing I have done in the past, though is get books on CD so I can listen to them while knitting, cleaning house or driving to and from work and errands. I really enjoy that, much more so than I thought I would!! However, seeing the Kindle out and reviewing so many friends' book lists that they read and enjoy I decided to start out the summer with a good book! I went to Walmart and saw this book:

I read the back of it and it sounded like it might be really good! Have you read this? Any thoughts? The price on the book is printed at $7.99 in the US. I purchased it for $5.67 (plus tax) so
I saved $2.32! I like to save money!! I am hoping it's a good read as I am really excited to start reading on my back porch in my rocking chair!
I saw that Big Lots is selling Cricut cartridges for $30 so I wanted to see if they have either of the two cartridges I want. No such luck but I found a GREAT deal there! They had a bunch of hardcover books 2/$1!!! Did you see that stack of books in the beginning of the post? I got those all for 50 cents each except the book from Walmart. I have no idea if these are good reads or not, but at prices like that, I think it will be worth it to see! I can always donate them later if they are not something that interests me. Let's check them out:

This book sounds so interesting. It is a fiction book but based on a real person. I am fascinated just from the introduction. It says the age range is 9 to 12 so I think Kadesia will be fine to read it. Have any of you seen this book before? The list price is $10.95. I paid $0.50 for it so
I saved $10.45!

This book just caught my attention. I like to learn about end time prophecies and predictions. Sometimes it's all bogus and sometimes it lines up with the Word of God. I am interested to see what this book is all about. Does anyone know of a review on this book? I think it's a book my brother-in-law would like. The price printed in the cover of this book is $18.95.
I saved $18.45!

This book jumped into my arms as I was rifling through the titles. I don't know anything about the author or the story but I do love stories dating back through the centuries. Do you like stories like that, too? I couldn't find a price for this book and Barnes & Noble didn't have it online. I saw a hardback book similar and by the same author with a list price of $30.95 so we'll use that price and that means
I saved $30.45!

Maybe it's the beautiful cover that captivated me. I can almost hear the crashing waves and smell the sea! I hear sea gulls over head and can feel the warm sunshine!! I am already pulled in and haven't even gotten past the cover! LOL If the story line is as good as the picture on the front I don't think I will be disappointed! The printed price inside said $23.95 which means
I saved $23.45!

My dad is a diabetic. I had gestational diabetes with both of my pregnancies. I struggle with my weight and I found myself answering yes to the introductory questions. I just wanted to take this book home and read it cover to cover in hopes that it will be a good resource for helping me keep diabetes and other problems like that at bay! Price compared by Barnes and Noble is $24.95. My fifty cent find means
I saved $24.45!

I am sorry for the blurry picture. I tried taking these pictures in my room where the lighting leaves a lot to be desired and with my two year old son jumping on the bed! Quite an interesting feat to say the least! Kadesia chose this book. It says Book Two so I told her we'd look online to see if we could find the first book and also check to see if there are more than two in this series. I am not sure if she will get into the story or not, but it might be fun for her to read! The price inside said $24.95, so
I saved $24.45!

This is another book she picked out. There was only this book in the Trilogy so we will also check online to see if we can find the other books at Barnes and Noble or somewhere. It says $17.95 on the jacket inside this hardcover book.
I saved $17.45!

Since this has the Scholastic symbol on it, and has three books in one, I felt like this would be a good book to get for Kadesia. She was so excited. I know she will have fun reading this one! The price on the back said $9.99 and that means
I saved $9.49!

You know Miss Kadesia picked this one out! She is so excited to read this cover to cover. She is all about cheerleading! Another $9.99 book that
I saved $9.49 on!

She saw this book and immediatley wanted to get it for her dad! I said sure! Hey what's fifty more cents, right? Plus it has some really neat photos of motorcycles in there. Priced at $29.99,
I saved $29.49!

I am not sure if it was the title, the sweater or a combination of the cover contents but I wanted to read this book. I like how the wedding ring is sort of dangling at her fingertips while her sleeve is pinned to the clothesline with her arm in it! If I had to pay $21.99 like the book price is listed for it would have never made it home with me! LOL
I saved $21.49 so it was worth it!

I had heard good things about this book. I haven't even really read the back cover or jacket to see what it is about. The price inside is $25.95 so
I saved $25.45!
I don't know if you have been keeping track or not but that is 13 books that I bought for about $13. I saved a whopping $246.88!!!! See, I told you I love a good bargain!
What books do you plan on reading this summer?

I am going to run right over to Big Lots and save my share of the wealth! :)
OK got it add Big Lots to the list f stops today! What a find!
Did you know the library also has book sales. I think once a month on Thursdays. It's all the books you can stuff in a bag for a really really low price. There are lots of hard cover and paperback. These are used books but still in good shape. Good luck with your summer reading program.
I highly recommend Susan Wiggs! I've read everything she has ever written and it all started with the "just breath" book!
Wow - and we have a Big Lots no very far from me . I love to read too - but some days there just isn't enough hours in the day to get it all done. Now don't you forget you have some "fun" new images to color too!!!
