Operation Write Home: Miss You

Hey, everyone!

This week I am going to share ten cards I committed to make for Operation Write Home. If you haven't checked out their website, I highly recommend it. For all you card makers out there, you can take supplies you already have on hand, even pieces that are leftover from other projects and create something new for a soldier! Think of all the things they give up EVERY SINGLE DAY to ensure we remain free: comforts of home, communication with family and friends, a hot shower, air conditioned living room with an easy chair, a comfortable bed... and the list goes on and on! We can do something we enjoy doing every single day (making cards) and create something for these men and women to use to send a note home to their loved ones. I don't know about you but I feel like that is the least that I can do! I hope these cards will be useful to them! This is the first set of 2 that I made:

I love this designer paper. I got it in a big slab at Hobby Lobby or Joann's and the colors are just so yummy! They coordinate and are all different designs! I paired it up with some blue cardstock I got from Walmart and some white Georgia Pacific cardstock. The weight is very nice on the blue and white. I used my Fiskars Threading Water Punch for the border. Of course I used my Bow Easy! Love that!! The swirl is a retired TAC stamp that I got in a grab bag. The sentiment is from Trendy Greetings, also from The Angel Company. The doodle dots are made with my white gel pen. I used the Giga Scalloped Square and Mega Scalloped Square punches from TAC. The white square is 1½". The Palette Hybrid inks I used are Burnt Umber and Reflection Blue.
This is a close-up of the shimmer on the sentiment. I used my Stardust Clear Gelly Pen to outline the sentiment and swirl. Will you make some cards for OWH, too?

Angel Hugs,
