Things have been very hard for my family for a while now...the past couple of years has been so scary and unsettling. The faith in God we have and cling to is really the glue that just kept us all together and encouraged to keep going on! My daughter, Kadesia, is 8 years old. She has her moments of being a stinker at times but she truly has a heart for God and at the hardest times she would say, "Let's pray, Momma!" That was so encouraging to me and as I sat there weeping with joy that my daughter knows Who to turn to when things are hard, I wondered if I had been teaching her to also go to God when things are good, too. Had I instilled in her an attitude of gratitude for our blessings? Have I been feeling sorry for myself? Of course it is a sad situation but there are others who have a lot more difficult circumstances than we do. I got my answer though when I took my daughter to school one morning and as she looked out the window with the sun shining down into her face, the sky so blue and no clouds in sight she sweetly proclaimed, "Thank You, LORD, for this beautiful day!" She often will thank God for the smallest blessings in our life and more often than not she will start the blessing over our meal before we can hardly all get seated.
I had just finished a 10 hour night shift at the hospital and was really down about how bleak our situation looked. I had prayed and prayed and yet I didn't feel like God was really hearing me. I was on my way to pick my daughter up to take her to school while we were living in our house and saw something beautiful in the sky. It hadn't even rained but it looked like there might be a hint of a rainbow beyond the clouds. As I continued to travel down the road it got more evident that it was exactly what it was! Take a look at these photos I got:
I thank God for His promise to me and the whole world! He is an amazing God!
