We had a really fun Halloween this year! I haven't dressed up since I went trick-or-treating as a kid myself, so when I suggested to my husband that we dress up as a family he thought it might be fun! We weren't sure what to dress up as so I asked around and a co-worker suggested we go as the Wizard of Oz. I had thought of going as a scarecrow anyway so the Wizard of Oz was a fun theme. My mother-in-law got the costumes, I bought Kadesia's, er I mean Dorothy's ruby slippers from Walmart and we went from campsite to campsite collecting candy! We climbed onto two golf carts and rode around the park checking out all the sights! I'd like to share those pictures with you now...
This picture is Javan and me just before the kids went on their Halloween Egg Hunt! Yeah, you read that right, Halloween EGG HUNT! It was actually a lot of fun, very organized and a different activity than we have participated in before this time of year! The eggs looked like acorns sort of, black and brown.
Here is Kadesia on the hunt! I love this image I captured of her with the wind blowing her hair.
Javan is laying down on the golf cart. His papaw was driving him and Couture (the dog) around the campgrounds. We took a hay ride and when I looked back there they were so I snapped this picture!
I had never painted a face before but he sat very still for me and I think it turned out pretty cute!
Kadesia is wearing a sparkly blue gingham dress. I think she looks so cute!
She is such a poser! Nana fixed her hair and did her make-up. I made her cheeks a little more rosy!
Check out those ruby red slippers!!
This is my favorite picture of her...I just love the way the sun is shining behind her onto her hair!
I dressed up as the Scarecrow. My mother-in-law's co-worker made my hat. I love it!
Yikes! Here's my close-up! Don't you just LOVE those eyebrows! LOL That's a scary face!
She enjoyed posing with her broom!
Now THAT is scary!
My mom had to help get the Tin Man get ready. My father-in-law's costume didn't fit so great and we laughed and laughed at him! My mom said she would tie the ribbon in the back, he said it wasn't ribbons, it was his sleeves! He ended up getting duct tape!
And we are off to see the Wizard!!
Papaw Huey is loving on Dorothy! LOL
Trick-or-treating around the campgrounds!
I loved this pirate ship display!
My sister wanted one of these so I took a picture for her! It's a snowman snow globe with bats flying around the haunted house. It looked really kewl!
This was a really spooky looking cemetery set up at one of the camp sites. I thought it looked really neat!
After driving around in the cool night air, it was nice to go back to warm up by the fire!
Thanks for letting me share my Halloween 2010 memories with you all!
Angel Hugs,
