I was in the Dollar Tree the other day with my twelve year old daughter. We were in the craft aisle and I was picking up a couple of supplies for an upcoming project I want to make. I found on the idea on Pinterest and so I just told my daughter that I am not one of those people who pin things and then never do them. I actually pin with the intention of making the food or DIY project that I pin. So a real sweet woman was in the same aisle looking at the books and overheard our conversation. She said that she had to know what the project was and so I told her. She said that she really liked the idea. I will share more about that project soon but I will say it is a special project for my husband and me. So she went on to share that in the radiation clinic that she works at one of the patients gave her and her coworkers a glass jar with popsicle sticks in it and on each one was an inspirational quote or verse. I thought that was so lovely and I thought that would be a great way to teach my kids the books of the Bible! So I purchased a glass jar and some colored popsicle sticks. There are even sticks left over. For only $2 in supplies it became a really fun game. Our whole family has enjoyed playing different versions of the game. I even pull out a stick and ask my daughter to name a scripture from the book. She surprised me when I said, "Philippians" and without missing a beat she said, "Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am so proud!
Here is a quick video on how I put the jar together and what I planned to do with it. If you enjoy it, be sure to leave me a comment in the message box below on my YouTube channel.
