Hey, everyone!
I love to create new and different cards all the time. I get bored easily if I am doing the same thing over and over, so I enjoy going to different blogs and seeing what others are making in order to inspire me to try new things and explore other options for making fun projects. I had been wanting to try making a "long" card but just didn't ever take the time to do it, so I finally just decided to go for it and here is what I came up with.

There is no stamping on this card but it was really fun to make. I used an 8"x8" base and scored at 4", so the card measures 8"x4" when closed. I had some patterned paper from my scrapbooking stash, maybe from Creative Memories, and the gold tones reminded me of the New Year! I found some strips of shiny gold paper that was in some scraps my friend Dawna didn't want anymore.
Thank you, Dawna!! So I paired them together and added some of my chocolate brown shiny ribbon! Love that ribbon! To give a little more shimmer and shine I grabbed my glue pen and dotted the circles in the patterned paper and then added our Prisma Glitter. When you hold the card in your hand, the bottom section looks like it has diamond inlays in it. I love it!! It's fairly simple but sometimes that is just the kind of card you need!
My husband is good at anything he does, it seems like. He is very competitive...must be the racer inside him, but he can't even play Bingo without being
very competitive! LOL I have several different hobbies, things that I truly enjoy doing, and he will often try them just to prove he can do it, too. He has no interest whatsoever in knitting, but he grabbed some of my needles one day and yarn while I was working on a project and he wanted to try. So I let him and he did really good! He wasn't interested in making anything, though, but he did want to prove he could do it. LOL Same thing with scrapbooking and stamping. I think he likes the idea of new tools, (
read: TOYS) and he has to try them out. So, while I am bathing the kids upstairs, he's downstairs doing laundry (gotta love him) and he comes back up and he hands me a card. At first I was like, "Oh how sweet. He made me a card." Well that was short lived. He hadn't made ME a card, but he did make a really neat gift card holder. He took it back downstairs and stamped it for a finishing touch and I must admit, he did a really good job! He used the HIS ANGELS (retired TAC) stamp set and some Mulberry Meadow scraps I had sitting on the desk. He is so funny!!! So, here's the gift card holder he made.

I hope you will create something fun today, too, and share it with me. Tomorrow is the StampTACular Tuesday challenge and you all are in for a treat! Not only will I be sharing my project I made with some chipboard and the An 'Udder Birthday stamp set but many others are sharing, too! That's only part of it, though. Each Tuesday in January, we'll have the StampTACular Tuesday challenge with more ways to use this stamp set. You will soon see that it is much more versatile than a birthday stamp set. If you want to play along, just e-mail me or leave me a link in the comments section where I can find your project using the TAC stamp set An 'Udder Birthday. If you don't have a blog, but still want to join in the fun, feel free to e-mail me the photos and I will share them the first challenge day that follows! You may think this challenge is fun but maybe you don't have this stamp set, don't worry, it's a T-coded stamp so you can purchase it anytime from Tuesday, Jan. 6 until Monday, Jan. 26 for HALF PRICE!
Have a great day and don't forget to check back tomorrow!
Hugs,

Both cards are great! That your husband did a gift card holder remembered me of when I started stamping. Martin would sit with me for hours seeing me making cards and would try some to see if he can do it. He did his own Christmas Cards last year. Good thing he just sent 3 because at the end I needed to help him finish or he would throw everything to the trash can. lol. He did heat embossing in them!
