I wanted to tell you that I won't have anything crafty to share with you today. I have a couple projects in the works but they aren't done yet.
WHAT'S BEEN KEEPING ME BUSY
I have been having a fun time with my kiddos for summer break! We went to watch the FREE MOVIE the local theater was showing. It was a lot of fun! Javan surprised me by sitting still for almost every bit of the movie! I am glad he liked it. Tonight we are taking the kids to Safe Night. It will be a lot of fun! The kids have all kinds of fun things to do like get their face painted, play games and win prizes, get free food and drinks, bounce in the bounce houses, play games outside, also, and they've had a mini petting zoo before. It's all FREE which is my kind of price tag but there are so many things to do and it all comes with a positive message...keeping our kids drug and tobacco free!
WEIGHT LOSS
I hesitated to share this on my blog, but I am really proud of it so I guess I will! LOL I've had a weight problem for about 9 years now. As a child, teenager and young adult I was never overweight. I never struggled with my weight, so I didn't know how to diet or anything like that. After I got married almost 9 years ago (this fall) I started gaining weight and now after having two children and not losing all the pregnancy weight, I have just gotten to a point where I am not happy with the way I look and how I feel. My main motivators for changing my weight are that I had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies and my dad has NIDDM (adult-onset). Heart disease is prevalent in my family on both my maternal and paternal sides so I really do want to reduce my risk of developing both. I also want to be healthy for my kids and husband and want to be a positive role model. I started Weight Watchers and my friend Christina W. has been my accountability partner! In my first week on WW I lost 4.2 pounds! I am so thrilled! It is not a diet because I am truly learning how to eat better and live better! I have definitely taken the steps to change my lifestyle. I feel a lot better already and have much more energy! I take a walk each day with my kids to get some exercise in! I have been drinking a lot more water and making better food choices. I love that I can still eat out, have sweets or salty snacks, or whatever I want as long as I can fit it in my food "budget" each day! I don't feel hungry or deprived because the choices of foods I've eaten really keep me satisified and the water helps a lot, too! I am a long way from my goal weight but I am not worrying about that right now. I am 4.2 pounds lighter and that takes me a little closer to my goal so that is what counts!

You have had a lot going on and I applaud you for wanting to live a better healthier life. It's hard this the umpteenth time I started this journey!
Good for you on taking time out for family and actually catching any weight issues while it's early. :) It's better for your whole family to eat "healthy" and I struggle with it too. Good luck!
